It was pathetic from Murray. Atleast if you want to lose to a Zverev lose to the good one not his useless older brother

Exactly he's a really poor player to lose to. Really pathetic for Murray. Massive chance wasted to win the Aus open with Djokovic out. His brotherAlexandra is better player out of the two who was unlucky to lose to Nadal in 5.

Nishikori looked like the one playing like a 35 year old in the 5th set. You'd think he'd have that age advantage.

Hes just a very average player to me. Other than a good return of serve hes got zero weapons to call upon. Had to laugh when he started feigning an injury to get a trainer called on to kill Federers momentum late on

Think its setup for a Wawrinka v Nadal final.... although i hope its a Federer/Nadal one instead,

    Massive bottle job from Murray.

I'd love to see Federer win another GS

I don't think he will. Warwinka, Nadal, Raonic are all stronger than him at the moment.

So refreshing and pleasant to see serve and volley disrupts the rhythm of a baseliner, give Misha Zverev his dues. Murray couldn't get into rhythm as he was required to return and played passing shots, quick points that halted his ground stroke tempo. His issues compounded when Misha when stayed back at the rallies, gave him balls with no pace and therefore Murray had to create his own pace, double dose of venom and smart smart tactics from MZ.

If Federer somehow loses the first set, I expect him to attack the net as serve and volley players achilles heel is usually their return of serve. Should be a good match

Serve and Volley is alive.....at least for now

Nadal routined him 6-1 6-1 a few weeks back. Serve and volley is dead.

    Murray is just a bottlejob

In the first tourney of the year, a 250 event. I reckon MZ would do much better if they play now

Serve and volley has been dead for the past decade, but at least for the time being, fans get to see 1 more match of attacking tennis

I hope the winner is Federer, if not then Nadal but I actually think that Wawrinka is going to win it.
Anyone but Raonic, the most boring tennis player since Sampras.

Nadal in the semis, beats Raonic 6-4 7-6 (9-7) 6-4. Faces Dimitrov next, i think.

Impressive performance from him. Looked to be faltering in the second set, but just about held it together.

Wawrinka brings back to 2-sets each in the semi with Roger.

    Quite good.

This Nadal vs Dimitrov match is great. High quality tennis.

Enjoying watching Rafa, looks like his old self out there. Moving about the court so well and defending immensely.

    Into a fifth set now.

I don't think I've seen Dimitrov show this much fight before. His backhand has been ridiculously good in this match.

Ridiculous backhand, that topspin from Rafa to his BH is not bugging him a bit and most of all able to dictate, cannot slice against Rafa, he chews that shot up

Great stuff. Good effort from Dimitrov.

The first Nadal-Federer Grand Slam final since when?

    Can't wait for Sunday.

Fantastic match, a great advertisement for men's tennis.

Again, I salute Rafa's resilience and stamina.

I also salute Dimitrov. For the first time, I can see why he's so highly regarded.

Now maybe i'll finally get some work done...

    Rog v Rafa then.

Their 4th meeting in the Aussie Open, Nadal has won the other three

Fed v. Rafa, another classic match in the making (on hardcourts, that is)

Their 'weaker' side would determine the outcome.

For Fed, he needs to consistently pin Rafa to his backhand from the deuce side like Djokovic has been able to do, this will eventually cause Rafa issues and results in shorter balls and the lack of depth from that side

For Rafa, same play book over the years. High top spin to Fed's backhand and if Fed struggles and starts to slice the ball, I dont see how he will be able to beat Rafa. Federer needs to volley well and I think he will play the net a lot

    Should be a good one!

Rafa will smash federer and close in on him, and after he wins Rolland Garos again he'll be within 1 gs of confirming himself as the greatest tennis player of all time.

I heard that they'd met 11 times in Grand Slams and Rafa has won 9.
I reckon he will make it 10 tomorrow.
