We have sufficient cover at the moment, if we had European football to contend with then maybe, but where does that leave the growth for the youngsters coming through, Ojo for one.

We need to start believing in what we are producing from the academy, if we are going to add to this squad it has to be top quality.

I wonder how many teams wish they had the likes of Sturridge and Origi in their first team, yet we have the luxury of them sitting on our bench and you would like to relegate them further. Lol

Fair point, if it's a case of Kane wanting to go to a bigger club, then maybe Pochettino would see it differently. But if it's Levy wanting to squeeze him for a scabby wage, and/or wanting to cash in, he'd probably see it as a slap in the face.

    We could sell sturridge .
I dont know how happy he is about his role in the team as a bench warmer

Sturridge still has a big part to play in our season, whether he's on the bench or not.

Not necessarily going to happen in January but I really like the look of Max Meyer. He looks to me like he'd seemlessly fit in with our fluid front three.

Nah can't see Sturridge going with Ings injured and Mane off to the Afcon, it doesn't make any sense. Seems rediculous if you as me, and I doubt it if it will happen.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet says he "won't accept" being a substitute. The 28-year-old last played in the Premier League in September. (Limburg TV via Daily Star)

    Had his chance.

And I can't see him here this time next year either. At his age he will want to play regularly and that ain't going to happen at lfc I'd bet.

It's cool that he'll be the one pushing for the move, big help for us.

I wonder what United would pay for Kane, whatever it is if he went it would make Danny worth more as you have to think Spurs would come in for him as a replacement.

Knowing us we will let him go on loan to some Italian club.

I know there was a fair bit of talk about Utd and Kane last year, you'd have to think they're still interested- and Spurs would have them by the balls too. Good shout on it upping Danny's value, but would they risk a load on him with his injury record? Would anyone?

I wonder would Jose be interested in Lukaku, he's such a Mourinho striker, not sure if he rates him though.

True but you'd have to think that Poch would be already aware that in a club like Spurs, you are going to have your better players cherry picked from time to time.

That's the main reason he left Southampton, as we were saying yesterday. Maybe he also sees Spurs as just a stepping stone. Weren't Utd linked him at one point, but he signed an extension? I doubt he'd have stuck around had he thought they'd start selling off their better players, who knows...

What's he going to do about it anyway though? OK, he's a good manager, but there's not many better jobs here than Spurs - and they already have good managers.

On the continent all but the very biggest clubs have to sell to buy too. If he walked he's by no means guaranteed to find a better job. He'd probably have to hope one of the big 3 in Spain fancied a change. And then be lucky.

I'd bet that's exactly what he sees it as.

On the Southampton thing, they would be a level below Spurs. Meaning there would be more levels to go up before you reach the top in the Saints case. Where as above Spurs level you are at the elite level, so any top player Spurs have that is going to be cherry picked is only going to be cherry picked by that group of elite clubs.

Or what can he do about it? Nothing. It's just the way it is.

Yeah, I was surprised Utd didn't go in harder for him, had they been in better shape they might have, instead of going for Jose, and 'guaranteed success'

Scary to think what Pochettino would be able to do with that Utd squad tbh, and he'd probably have bought better in the summer too.

Crazy to think this is even logical really - Jose was seen as possibly the best manager in the world not that long ago

    Things change fast eh
