We should have taken a chance last summer. There was something in the kid, and the season he's having a Leipzig confirms it.

Think he was monitored intensely but went to Leipzig instead

    Timo Werner is another.

He joined Leipzig from Stuttgart for a mere 8.5m and now has 13 goals and 6 assists in just 22 appearances. That's some going for the 20-year-old.

Naby Keita joined for 12.5m and is probably worth more than double that after one season in the Bundesliga. Two super signings for Leipzig who came up from the Second Division.

Yeah, I like Werner. Sabitzer is an interesting player as well.

Is he a hard tackling DMF?
If hes not i dont think we need him.
We need a Masch 2 and we have done for 6 transfer windows.
    Getting boring now.

He's got a bit of everything in his locker tbh.

If Klopp persists with the three man midfield, he's tailor-made for Wijnaldum's role.

He can tackle, pass, dribble and got a decent drive on him too. Would bring an abundance of energy and technical ability to he side.

Every team needs a Mascherano. There aren't many players like him sadly.

He'd be an able deputy for Hendo in the deeper role when need be, but ultimately will start more in the Gini and Lallana positions.

He'd probably take Gini's place long term. But as previously said, Leipzig will get CL while we're a bit doubtful at the moment.

We'd be foolish to keep this 4-3-3 going into next season.

If Klopp felt he needed a Mash type of player he would buy one.

We don't need 3 mids. Its debateable that having 3 mids has actually solved anything.

I'd go back to the 4-2-3-1. Having a recognized CF, and two solid new CMs. I know most of this won't happen, but its what I would advise.

He really is an all-action kind of midfielder.

Bundles of energy and vibe, he knows how to defend and tackle, he can pick a pass but quite easily collect the ball and drive on from midfield towards goal. His energy and running will definitely appeal to Klopp but he is also a very intelligent player with and without the ball. Any midfield would benefit with Naby Keita in their side.

I personally cannot see this happening as RB Leipzig are going places and do not need the money. Unless the player is unhappy or angling for a move, I don't see why he will move from Leipzig any time soon.

We played the best football in Europe in the autumn arguably. Our problems have nothing to do with formation.

We have had the same problems for years. Be it 4-2-3-1 and even the 3-5-2 under Brendan. A lot of inconsistent players, poor mentality and lack of leaders in the side.

And not enough quality in the squad beyond the starting 11.

I know I shouldn't say this but I think he is a little too good for Liverpool right now.

He could quite easily be playing for one of the giants in Europe such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Juve and wouldn't look out of place at all.

We have played sublime and at the same time completely pub side football. We are shoehorning players into roles and it worked for a period, and now its no longer working. We abandoned a controlled approach for chaos and its what we are getting.

If Keita is too good for us then we're in big trouble.

I'm not getting my hopes up on this one but if we did manage to snap up Naby Keita (which I highly doubt), he could work in a midfield two with someone like Jordan Henderson who has developed into a rather nice defensive-minded midfielder this season.

Something like this which has a lot of energy and dynamism...

    Keita - Hendo

    Mane - Firmino - Coutinho

    Dembele

No more energy and dynamism. We need control.

Well, then its time to start looking at the likes of Krychowiak, Neves or Dahoud.

If we are serious about getting out of these Doldrums its time to buy real quality, but I and you and the rest of the world knows it can't and won't happen.

Another pairing that would work very well together.

You need a pairing like Matic and Kante really and Geis and Keita wouldn't be too far off it. And just to throw some wood onto the fire, Geis and Keita share the same agent!

Geis is better at setting things up than Matic and his set pieces are just an added bonus.
