Yeap, his set piece deliveries are very good. We may finally have found our corner and free-kick taker in Geis.

My exact thoughts. If we can't compete for this lad and realistically get him then we should stop trying to act like we can one day challenge to win this league.

At least ticket prices should come down when we accept mediocrity.

Predictions on the PL player who will have a purple patch at the end of the season and make the 30m move here?

If we play Henderson as CB we can save a bit of money there too.

What I love most about the Plan B argument is that it only applies to managers who generally play good football.

Why do Pulis and Allardyce not have a Plan B when their hoofball doesn't work? "Lads it's not working. Let's start playing tiki-taka!"

I've had very little opportunity to follow the Bundesliga this season, but judging by various comments on this thread it seems that Keita has quite a solid all-round game.

Inevitably, this begs the question: Is Keita another one of those 'jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none' midfielders, or is he a genuine specialist in a particular attribute?

We need specialists like we had back in the days in Alonso and Mascherano, so if Keita is a specialist of some sort then that would be a great start.

Not the worst idea, brings the ball out from defence. Markovic will provide the delivery we need when he comes back as RB

And, in the case of good footballing teams, why does a Plan B tactic always seem to involve a more direct style? It could always be a more subtle but effective change, such as dragging the defensive line further forward or further back.

I'd go back to the 4-2-3-1. Having a recognized CF, and two solid new CMs. I know most of this won't happen, but its what I would advise.
Only reason I would change is because I want a recognised #9 and Klopp ain't dropping Firmino.

Hahaha, Pulis has been known to employ the gegenpress and employ a false 9 if Rondon isn't trapping the ball

He shouldn't drop Firmino. He should drop one of the CMs.

Keita is a beast. I'd say he's an even better player than Kante.

    I kind of agree.

He seems to have N'Golo Kante's 'bite' when defending but has a lot more in his attacking locker too. He would be a real coup but not one I expect to be able to pull off.

And not enough quality in the squad beyond the starting 11.
everything to do with it. As teams have found us out and esp lower teams who sit back and hit us on the break our formation is directly to blame. We have won twice since 31st Dec and one of those was against Plymouth. Id say that eclipses any startling footy we played in the autumn. We've morphed into Arsenal with no backbone, no holding MFs, crap CBs and no leadership. Arsenal play well in the autumn too.

I think on the ball yes but Kante reads the game better defensively.

It was all there to see last season in a weaker league.

Just thinking about him makes me sick. When the world was after Dahoud and Zielinski this kid was the money deal.
