Considering that I'm an expert in all things football, and I'm rarely wrong, my 2016/17 fantasy football team has been shocking!

For example, I had the smart idea of putting Rashford straight into the team when Ibra was injured as he's surely going to score loads in Ibra's absence? He's barely played since!

    How have your teams done?

I don't do Fantasy Football, but if I did… my lot would certainly pummel your lot.

Dirty Diddlers 5, Southern Robbers 0.

    Just like that.

Isn't this the wrong thread, anyway?

It was a random football thought, so no!

I was thinking of posting my random football thought about how they could make those end of season dead rubbers more interesting by getting the players to wear fancy dress - you know, instead of Southampton v Stoke on Sunday, we could have Cops v Robbers, or Cowboys v Indians???

    This is completely brilliant, Robbo!

Although your choice of characterisations takes me back to primary school some decades before you were born!!! Get modern, man.... teams of Star Wars characters (GK dressed as Chewbacca) etc for example.

Imagine a team of 'Trumps' v 'Putins'

    What larks!

    Brill breaking news

The FA is to set a panel will review footage from the weekend each Monday
    And as a result
Retrospective actions will be enforced on divers
Any player unanimously found guilty of diving would be given a suspension. ‘A new offence of ‘Successful Deception of a Match Official’

Good to see Danny Ward not only playing well for Huddersfield in the Championship Play Off but saving two penalties as well. This lad could have a big future but where?

I think it best if it was a 'judge's decision is final' deal. If appeals were allowed, then things could drag on and get heated and tangled.

But such a rule would certainly make potential divers think twice.

A thought… only dives in the box, or full field of play?

Well one more win and he'll be in the PL. No disrespect to the lad but not back at Anfield please. Our future between the sticks lies with Grabara.

Not sure at the moment on full pitch scenario - as far as I am aware it only covers diving for free kicks and penalties, not off the ball incidents

Though to me off the ball incidents should be looked at and normally they are trying to get someone sent off

The intention is laudable, but the execution could prove to be tricky.

So Rodgers bemoaned the Anfield pitch, and recently Jurgen did too - and this summer we get a brand new surface, irrigation system and all the other stuff that entails - wonder how much of a difference it will make?

Don't hear many complaints these days about the quality of pitches - certainly not in the premier league anyway

    Most look beautiful.

I grew up with Div 1 pitches that looked like they'd been used to re-enact The Battle of The Somme.

Didn't we dig the pitch up in 2014 as Rodgers wanted a surface that suited his style of football?

Bet he regrets having superglue sprayed in the surface before every home game.

How often do pitches get re-laid in general?

    Ah, those were the days!

How would the young players of today cope with that?

And there were the frozen pitches… no underfloor heating back then!!

    Here's Shanks giving the lads a hand…

Wasn't Anfield like a bog the night of our famous win over St Etienne?

Anyone see that Tony Barrett is going to be appointed by the club in a full time fan engagement role? Overseeing fan forums and engaging in social media in an official capacity?

Wonder how SOS and the likes will take it as its long been a gripe there isn't enough contact

I didn't much care for the new strip in the promo photos… but it looked much better 'in play.'

So big Sam changes his mind and says ta-ta to Palace, after signing until 2019.

But then, he pockets 2,000,000 quid for keeping them in the PL… so he thought 'ah, sod it... I'm off.'

Not a random thought at all, we all know where it is coming from, but since I feel it needs saying,

    COME ON AJAX!

Not watching the match but willing those boys to do it for themselves, their club and my satisfaction.

Will make a decent season even better.
