Everything is just lethargic with him at present. Simple passes he's making look difficult and coupled with losing the ball in situations you wouldn't expect.

He's just become a bad player basically.

Shadow of the player he was and I wouldn't be against moving him on if a club happen make advances.

Never rated him. He's a waste of space. Headless chicken that brings nothing to the team.

He has had a very very bad season and he isnt fitting into what Klopp wants to do with this team. I cant see him staying here much longer if he doesent get things going for him soon. He is holding up at the wrong times and makes a lot of dreadful decissions. He showed a lot of promiss ealier, but it has been a very long time since i say consistent and dominating presence from him.

He's fat and slow and can't pass. He's got no better or worse. He's always been that way

He has not regressed. This has always been his level, it's just he's young so everyone assumed he would keep improving which he has not.

Shadow of what player? He's never performed consistently enough and this season it's become hard to watch. I won't go overboard because we've just lost so it's easy to dig someone out.

Useless today, how he was hauled off at half time make me lose some trust in Klopp. Should never have started

And that's the dilemma. Do we keep faith in him for another season as he's young, in the hope that he shows big improvement or do we cast away at the end of the season? Tough call.

Never one to single out individuals, but the main reason why we lost today. (apart from the defending troubles)

Should score first half and spent the whole game disrupting our play. We never put them under enough pressure like we tend to do usually.

We can't have passengers in the side if we want to win things. Some of our players lost their heads with him when he tried that scissors kick in their box. It must be frustrating playing with him.

He's simply the most overrated Liverpool player I have ever seen.

Every once in a while will give an 8/10 performance that all the fans seem to lap up and rave about yet all the fans conveniently seem to ignore all the shocking performances like today he gives.

He's a poor player and I'd be looking to get a decent fee in the summer.

Where are the dopes who think he's a midfielder now then?? I've said it before this guy must either play up top or at the back!!!!

He's a joke in the midfield, a complete waste of a man. His passing is so poor and his awareness and intelligence are dire.

Absolutely disgusting performance from him and the rest of them aside from Firmino.

I'm a big fan of the German but by heck, he has been awful this season.

The problem is we have no one else to take his place as Lallana is being asked to play in an advanced role due to Coutinho's injury and now Mane's absence.

Probably why a few of us in the summer were so in favour of bringing in a creative midfielder like Dahoud in the summer.

Very average player, dont see what the manager sees in him, so slow and sloppy with the ball a lot of the time.

He has been poor for ages. I can't get my head around the purpose of starting him. I simply don't!

Not just this year, LD .. after seeing him play over 70 games for the club, I still cannot see what his best position is or where his strengths lie, but I sure can tell you a lot of negatives about him. He just does not add any value to our midfield. He is not a particularly good defensive player, nor an effective attacking one. In my view, he is just not good enough to be playing at this level, and he never will be.

I didn't say they aren't allowed to do that. Just living in a free world and airing out my thoughts...

Its funny where people go to channel their frustrations.

Emre Can is like the least of my worries at this point. So many obsessing over how he doesn't fit our style of play when for 6 years, we've tolerated, excused, even half worshipped the pointless existence of more senior midfielders like our fearless leader, his Captain Amazing. I mean, honestly...we have stunk plenty of times when Can was not on the team. Why we pick on whether he released the ball a nano second slower than we like when we have other people needlessly swinging the ball from right to left all day long like a bleepin' pendulum, is beyond me. It's gotten to the point where we now glorify "recycling the football" as if this is some precious skill we should hold in high regard. Whatever, give me someone who loses the ball because he's actually trying to do make something happen.

Not suggesting Can hasn't had a poor season but to make him remotely a focus area of our current problems is such a waste of time.

Tbf I wouldn't want any of our midfielders starting, long term.

I think he's a decent player and at his best is fairly multi skilled, but I like specialists

The least knee jerk thread on here to be fair.

He is absolutely abysmal at the moment. Sunderland gave a basic ball away. The simplest of touches he can't even control it. That's the throw in from where the penalty comes.

Can is literally costing us points at the moment. Never got going today. Coutinho totally isolated, because he couldn't play combinations with him and Milner. We played with 10 men today.

Best he has look is a CB in a back three.

    Never fully convinced in midfield.

I would say that over the last month he's been our worst player.

So yeah he's a pretty big problem at the moment.
