So the team has the talent that is required, it's whether we have the mentality to go on a little run and make it happen.
    Agreed.

I think it is, I think it tells us if we finish the season well we'll be doing something we haven't for 3 years. It's not meant to be a negative post, but you can take it that way. Although I hope you're right and it is completely irrelevant

Might be if it were like for like ie corresponding fixtures, but not picking games against opponents we aren't going to play like Newcastle and defeats at Arsenal where we've not only played this season, but won.

Results from corresponding fixtures (15/16 then 14/15)

    Everton (a) : D1-1, D0-0
    Bournemouth (h) : W1-0, n/a
    Stoke (a) : W1-0, L1-6
    WBA (a) : D1-1, D0-0
    C Palace (h) : L1-2, L1-3
    Watford (a) : L0-3, n/a
    Southampton (h) : D1-1, W2-1
    West Ham (a) : L0-2, L1-3
    Middlesboro (h) : n/a, n/a

So drawn corresponding fixtures for last two seasons at West Brom and the bitters, lost both at West Ham and both at home to palace. Sadly not too many wins in there, just 3 out of 14 games (P14 W3 D5 L6) To make it more optimistic, Boro are woeful, and we can only improve on past results against palace and West Ham plus it's highly unlikely we'll suffer the same embarrassment at Stoke as we did under Rodders.
People will believe what they want to believe
