He's never been a cf. just doesn't score enough. It's why scolari abandoned the idea for Brazil. He's a 10, much like coutinho and lallana. Zlatan's demonstrating what a specialist striker can do.

All goes back to how klopp wants to play. Things started to go wrong for his BVB when he didn't replace lewandowski with an equivalent striker. He's chosen not to play with a striker. That's his choice. Much in the same way he chooses not to play with a specialist 6, or 8, or left back.

The results I suppose will prove him right or wrong.

Tonight was as bad as I've seen him, ever. Looked like he'd been awoken from a 17-year coma and told he used to be a footballer.

I think he is a fantastic option, but he should be an option, we shouldn't be relying on him to lead the line.

Definitely worth keeping in this squad though.

He should be in the team but behind the striker. We all knew we had too many AMs and so this formation gets them all in the team and that's wrong

Not Vardy - he's been **** this season .. until the point we paired him up against Lucas at CB. He'll go back to **** next weekend.

No more false 9 or whatever firmino does go with Origi or sturridge. Had enough. Get back to basics!

He's a massive problem firmino,he never gets dropped, he's absolutely awful on the wing, we have too many number 10's so he ends up as a false nine striker. But I really don't want him leading the line, I want a proper striker in the mound of Aguero, Costa, he'll even Lukaku, Kane.

I wouldn't mind him playing off a striker or behind. Not on the left wing tho in our system

I dunno, we're such an unadaptable team it's untrue. We only play with certain exact players, one player is out and it falls apart.

He runs the channel and holds the ball better that the strikers on the bench

Your complaint only works if his replacement is an improvement

been saying for ages now hes useless up front but i always got slaughtered. its been criminal playing him up top over sturridge all year. sturridge has two bad starts and gets dropped, firmino has about 5 shockers in a row not a word is said because he works hard.

you know what, im sure there are other blokes out there willing to run as much as firmino aswell. but strikers need to be clinical. look at costa, aguero. ibra is shockingly bad in build up play but scores goals. thats what we need.

He's effective when he's playing against opposition who are reasonable high up the pitch. Then he can be what he is, a nuisance. He's good at pressing the opposition defence high up the pitch, linking with players and things like that but when against a deep defense, he just drops too deep and he's awful in the box movement wise.

Probably because he's not useless up front. He's in extremely poor form but his goal involvement is still around one goal/assist per 90 minutes when played up front.

    Who really cares about this?

He is meant to be our main striker. Eight goals this season?

Not remotely good enough. Needs to play as a #10 behind a more prolific forward.

Goal involvement is kind of important for a striker. 10 goals + assists in 16 games as a striker is not a problem.

We're the highest scorers in the league, in the best way ie. sharing the goals around and not relying on one player. Do you want to go back to relying on a striker?

We need a forward similar to Firmino who can replace him when he's going through a patch like this.

I am not even going to dig him out, I like him and as I have said in another thread, it is pointless singling out individuals, but Bobby is a support player for me.

He's rightly getting criticised but he's simply going through a poor patch of form which perhaps coincides with his drink driving incident.

10 goals + assists in 16 games when played up front is completely fine for an attacker. And goal-scoring has been the least of our problems this season.

He's just soooooo slow. I'd rather try Mane as a CF.
