Feel like this is the game our turn-up-and-steamroll-bigger-teams trope comes back to bite us on the ****. Especially after beating a Burnley.

Every game is another 'must win' game. Teams still have games in hand on us. I can't see us losing here tbh.

They'll have to dig one hell of a grave to bury us all.

unsure what to think about this one, city have improved since we last played them but we're likely to grab a goal or two against their defence

I wish City still had Mangala, he was worth a goal every game he was like a one legged Sakho

That's what the players normally call him anyway.

In order to bring back the best out of Coutinho and to win the midfield battle against City, I would go for this formation...

    ------------------------------Mignolet----------------------------------

    ---------------------Matip--------------Klavan------------------------

    ---------Clyne------------------------------------------Milner---------

    -------------------------------Can--------------------------------------

    --------------Wijnaldum----------------Lallana----------------------

    ----------------------------Coutinho----------------------------------

    --------------Mane----------------------Firmino--------------------

    not a bad pick indeed,

we have some positive results in most of the games he has officiated us, if I'm not wrong,

but tbf I don't remember how turned out our last precedent with him,

someone could clue me up about that?

Need a Monaco 5 City 3 result with ET and pens and loads of injuries for City.

if we play as we know we can, I think your prophecy has not to occur necessarily,

let's remind of the way we performed the last time we played at the Ethiad,

if we'll be good enough, we'll win even with a slender margin, would be sufficient,

Just watched the Man City v Stoke highlights.

That stadium had to be at least half-empty.

How the hell can they justify their spending when FFP says you can only spend what you earn (or whatever). It is blatantly obvious they are circumventing this with inflated sponsorship etc.

They clearly do not have the fans spending power to justify their outlay.

    Football governing bodies eh?

No worries with this one. We have a decent chance of winning or at least getting a draw. City will try to out football us which leaves them open to pace. We can win this game.

Very possible , we could get thrashed ?? especially if we perform like we did against Burnley?? It really is frustrating , it all depends which Liverpool team turn up ?? We certainly cannot rely on the pundits press comments that Liverpool are better against top teams !!! , which is real but a silly stat , every game is different and City have been going very well of late STATS mean nothing
We certainly have the beating of City and a win there would help us no end for a top 4 slot . I hope with all my heart we can beat them, but Clyne and Milner will really have their work cut out up against Sane and Stirling , pity we couldn't borrow one of United's players to "Stomp or Elbow" them into touch HA HA ????

I'm not sure about Mane and Firmino in goal, but Migs as a lone striker works for me. Lump it up to the big man.

We are going to sorely miss Henderson. With him and Firmino id be confident of a win. Without both or even just Hendo i think its squeaky bum time.

I think we'll miss Henderson defensively. If City catch us on the counter, I'm not confident that Can has the pace or mobility to stifle or stop the likes of Sane, Sterling and Aguero. Emre will have to be far more disciplined than he has been in recent weeks, too.

However, I do think that if City give Emre room on the ball, he will cause them some problems, perhaps more so than Jordan.

This game might be won and lost in midfield, and we dominated them at Anfield in this area of the pitch. Hopefully Can, Wijnaldum and Lallana are more in sync than they have been of late.

Personally, I believe it's more important that Firmino returns to the starting line up. He's integral to the way we play and will put more pressure on their CB's (who always look to play from the back) than Origi. Coutinho, Mane and Bobby have a great understanding and I'm sure that if they're on the top of their game, we will get some very good chances.

It's going to be a great game I think. A point wouldn't be the worse result, but if we gain the three points, I'll be very confident that we will qualify for the Champions League.
