I like the look of him. Won't be cheap but he'd be a good partner for Matip I think.
No idea if he looks amazing because Burnley park the bus, or because he's a top CB.

    Looked good this season though.

If this guy is our CB next season it says everything about this club.

    The new Arsenal.

I don't think Arsenal would sign him to be honest

I won't lie I've been impressed with him but the Burnley defence have been very good this season however I wouldn't sign him.

I fear that he isn't good enough on the deck for me - and the way we try and play out the back and the way Migs pings balls at players, he has to be.

I rate him and would be in favour of the signing. Probably in the minority here but I quite rate Maguire from Hull too.

Was just about to mention Maguire, I think he's better with his feet and for a big guy he's able to bring the ball out of defence.

Keane looks a leader and would have served a good apprenticeship on the art of defending under Dyche.

If it was between Keane and Maguire I'd just go with Maguire though

Both would command big enough fees and are they really an upgrade on Sakho or Lovern.

We need a CB who can help us stop the number of goals we concede from set pieces.

And Keane looks like that profile of defender. Strong in the air and good in 50-50s.

Possibly... if he achieves to give me less than 5 heart attacks per season he'll be an improvement.

A big plan of teams that employ a low block is to beat our press by sending the ball long and winning the second ball deep in our half with most of our team ahead of the ball. Also overloading our area during set plays. Having towering headers of the ball is a must.

I agree. I also don't think he is signed to be a first choice but as an option. Matip, New CB, Keane and one of Lovren or Klavan.

He wont go back to Utd, Chelsea also been linked with him. Arsenal and City will also be after him I think. He wont be cheap either, think we'll be barking up the wrong tree with this one. We'll have a slim chance of signing him (un less Klopp can convince him) and even then he'll cost a small fortune.

I'd be happy for Keane to be about 4th or 5th on our list. I'd be very disappointed if he was the first choice. I need to see us miss out on the likes of Van Dijk first.

What you do notice about Michael Keane from that video is how tight he defends against attackers. There is absolutely no space for them whatsoever to turn him. Plus he looks a monster in the air too.

His passing in the video doesn't look too shabby either - I didn't think he was that good with the ball at his feet.

I think we need to look further afield than the prem. So much value for money out there, Manolas would probably cost the same as Keane for instance. Koulibaly would cost less!

I think both Manolas and Koulibaly would cost around the 40m mark (if not more). Napoli are a bummer to deal with, I can see Koulibaly being more than Manolas. Van Dijk would cost a similar amount.

And then Michael Keane would probably cost around 20m or so - he's playing for Burnley and I'm sure he wouldn't cost much more than that.

You would probably be able to get him for about 10 million.

I've added 10m onto his price due to the fact he is English!

Lets not forget what John Stones did to the English defender's market when he moved for 50m to City!

I would have him as a super sub defender, but not as a starter. For the time being Klopp relies on super sub defender Lucas when Klopp decides that we need to protect a lead. Lucas is a specialist at giving free kicks away during his cameo appearances. Think Keane will be much better in these situations when the opposition start being aggressive with their long balls when trying to fight back. Keane will just head them all away. Or we could hire Keane for two games a season against united. Mourinho loves to hit long balls when they are behind. Take that Fellaini and Co!

Defence is a tricky area to fix imo, just bringing in a great player isn't going to fix the problem there are many variables like the system, the right partner, the keeper and who is in front (Dm).I dont know how this will turn out so I'm indifferent about the signing or any other CB we bring in . One thing I do believe is we will never be defensively great under klopp,30 goals conceded is the best we could hope for, his style of play doesn't allow it

How does this look? You can't argue we wouldn't have enough good headers in the box.

    Karius

    Clyne - Matip - Keane - Kolasinac

I cant see Keane leaving for less than 30m. Stones has killed the market for that type of player.
