a good team, but lack of pace in midfields. maybe a 4-2-3-1 instead, just in case.

Yep, hopefully that assuming no new injuries.

It'd be good if both Lovren and Matip can stay fit till the end of the season.

It depends a lot on who (if anyone) comes back into the mix. Assuming neither of Lallana or Henderson is back I'd go

    Migs

    Clyne Matip Lovren Milner

    Lucas

    Wijnaldum Can

    Firmino Origi Coutinho

    It really picks itself...

If either is fit then they come in and Lucas goes out. The bench won't be stellar but that's a given with the injury situation and our lack of quality depth.

He's better than Origi as was shown in the previous game. And Sturridge has always been Klopp's 2nd choice forward this season.

need another important win. it's go big or go home time 5 wins from 7, business end of the season. even though it could of been less difficult if we have 7 more points, we will be stronger

A very hard game ahead of us, WBA are always physical and well drilled.

People talk about how the Bournemouth game in December ruined our 'fear factor' this season, giving teams outside the top 7 belief that they could beat us. Well maybe winning at Stoke (without Mané, Lallana and Henderson) will reverse that. Had Stoke won at the weekend, I would've been seriously worried about our remaining 6 games. I'm more confident that we can them all (which would comfortably see us finish 3rd place), and I think our remaining opponents will be more worried.

Prompted me to have a look at our attacking players' record in the league this season, not simply goals scored but consecutive scoring appearances, wondering if any of the players has scored in 3 consecutive appearances.

Most consecutive scoring apps (league 16/17)

    4 apps in a row

Origi - 4 goals in 4 consecutive apps (scored as sub then 3 consecutive scoring starts)

    3 apps in a row

Coutinho - 3 goals in 3 consecutive apps (2 starts then as sub)

    2 apps in a row

Lallana - 3 goals in 2 consecutive apps (2 consecutive starts, goal and then brace)
Milner - 3 goals in 2 consecutive apps (2 consecutive starts, brace and then goal)
Sturridge - 2 goals in 2 consecutive apps (goal as sub, unused sub, goal as starter)
Firmino - 2 goals in 2 consecutive apps (2 consecutive starts)
Wijnaldum - 2 goals in 2 consecutive apps (2 consecutive starts)
Origi - 2 goals in 2 consecutive apps (goal as sub, goal as starter)

So Mane, our top scorer, has surprisingly yet to score in consecutive appearances whilst Coutinho has just made it 3 scoring appearances in a row with Origi perhaps also surprisingly, as an infrequent starter, boasting the most scoring league appearances in a row yet despite that 'accolade' has been a sub 19 times (2 goals) to his 9 starts (4 goals) At least he did get the chance to make it 5 (or more) in a row, but has only started 4 of the (last) 14 games, completing 5 consecutive starts before the last 14 games.

They're in no particular order other than consecutive appearances and then where someone didn't just score once in a game, Sturridge sneaks in as it is appearances not games, which cuts some who miss an odd game or two some slack.

A bit better than I'd thought it would be, but considering we're top scorers (at least were last I heard), I'd have hoped for more consistency given several have managed 2 in 2. You'd think this would sell Origi as a starter, only player to have scored in consecutive appearances more than once, and who scored in 3 consecutive starts which no one else has. Maybe the lack of starts/consistency is why his tally isn't higher, break the last 20 games down :

Origi (in last 20 league games)

4 goals in 6 apps (scoring sub, then goals in each of 3 starts thereafter, then 2 goalless starts)
0 goals in 10 apps (2 non consecutive starts and an unused sub mixed in with 8 subs apps)*
2 goals in 3 apps (scoring sub, then scoring starter, then goalless start)

Of course you could split it different, make it say 0 goals in 8 apps (1 start) and then 2 goals in 5 apps (3 starts), but the point is really that when starting more often and not just coming on as sub, and with Klopp those can be so late they should barely be counted, so maybe given a run of starts he could be something like Sturridge was (without the injuries perhaps) in terms of scoring.
People will believe what they want to believe

Seeing as Coutlinho has recovered from sickness, I would imagine the manager reverting to the 4-3-3:

    -------------Mignolet-------------

    Clyne - Matip - Lovren - Milner

    ------Can -Wijnaldum - Lucas

    Firmino -- Origi -- Coutinho

Maybe if he sticks with the back three, and the team will probably be camped out in West Brom's half anyway, so how about this?

    -------------------Mignolet---------------------

    ----Matip---------Lovren------Gomez--------

    Clyne-Firmino-Wijnaldum-Coutinho-Milner

    ------------Origi-----------Sturridge-----------

There would be goals in that line up, and of course Lallana may be ready to play, which would be even better.

I think Klopp wants Emre Can and Wijnaldum in attacking positions without losing a presence in the middle. He might go with Lucas or he will go with 3 at the back again.

Agreed. With that attacking front 4 we should be able to really take the game to West Brom. No point packing the midfield with players who want to pass it side to side as ultimately you will always dominate the possession against West Brom. It's about having the quality players on the ball to beat their deep line when you have it.

My only worry with this set up is we would only really have 3 players on the pitch that I would say are good in the air in Lovren, Matip and maybe Can. Perhaps bringing in Gomez at LB or RB wouldn't be the daftest idea?

    thats the team to plaay

but he may stick with the back three because west brom are quite direct in their play and tend to cross it and lump balls into the box

better than , apples and oranges.. different players different strengths

on top form sure he is a more dangerous player but how long since we ve really seen his top form..

still quality option and i saw him genuinely sprinting to prevent a goalkick v stoke

i m not sure he s fit enough to start the game but should get another 20-30 mins to cause some damage which could give firmino 20-30 mins rest assuming all is hunky dorry and we re winning 2 or 3 nil

I watched that over and over again and I couldn't find any sense in it. As you very correctly said: The area was packed with Stoke players. Hope he is more careful in future.
