Part 2 of the Sturridge thread for this season.

Had some nice touches today when coming on.

Played much better than some of his appearances earlier this season. Did some nice work in the build-up to the first goal.

Agreed, hopefully we see more of him between now and end of the season, he can still have a part to play.

Not going to hold my breath, anything we get out of Danny is a bonus for me.

If we can get 3/4 games/ subs out of him, it could earn us an extra 3/4 points this season.

I know that he's not really contributed much to our season due to injuries but I just love seeing him coming off the bench and playing for us, and I always hope he scores.
Hopefully he'll be able to play a part in the last few games.

Got to cherish the moments he's on, because in an instant he's back on the shelf for months.

Not negative, just realistic. I have been burned too many times before with Danny. Happy he made it on the pitch today...

But I don't want to get my hopes up, nothinhg negative about that.

Thought he massively changed the game. His mere presence on the pitch changed our whole mentality.

Would love him to get some proper game-time now Mane is out.

His movement for the first goal was excellent. It created the problem in their defence and resulted in the ball breaking to Coutinho. Although he didn't make clean contact on Can's pass his part in it was key.

He even seemed to have a bit of energy and pace about him as well.

I didn't see it clearly enough but thought it didn't quite reach him

It reached him but I couldn't be sure as to whether he didn't time his effort to sweep it in correctly or if the defender got a toe to it as he was trying to do so.

My initial thoughts were the former.

It looked to me like they had a couple of men almost marking him at times and it made space for the rest of the lads.
He is still a danger on the pitch.

They know his quality so it's only natural, 3 great subs yesterday .

Danny had a huge impact when he came on. Nice deft touches and flick. Key for the first goal.

It's nice to have a natural striker on the pitch. Just need to keep him fit if it's possible. Someway, somehow.

He's a quality attacking player, so no it's not much of a coincidence that he made a difference.

he still has it.... if i was everton i d take a punt on him this summer.. just a real shame he cant be relied upon because in top form he s one of the best there is.

nd yesterday he was sprinting to prevent goalkicks.... not something i ve seen from him in quite some time

could have a vital part to play yet...

imagine a firing sturridge for the last 6 games

Apparently, there has been a huge fan praise for Sturridge after his cameo at Stoke.

And now the fans as asking for him to start against West Brom.

nah he s not ready for a start

another 30 mins to give firmino a rest again and keep him fresh til the end

but sturridge still has talent in his boots... and he does add something different, he scares defenders an drags them all over the place. i like him as a footballer but god he just cant stay fit....

maybe some club will luck out this summer and get him for half nothing

A front 3 of Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge (if he's fit enough) for our last few games is an exciting prospect.
