Assuming Matip, Klavan and Lucas don't pass the fitness test (which would be worst case scenario).

    ------------------Mignolet
    Clyne------Lovren------Gomez------Milner
    -------------------Stewart
    ----------Emre Can------Wijnaldum
    --------------------Coutinho
    -------------Firmino------Sturridge

Subs: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Moreno, Grujic, Woodburn, Wilson, Origi

If Matip, Lucas and Klavan aren't fit then I'd play Stewart over Grujic just to protect the makeshift centre back pairing. I hope any of those three are at least fit to make the bench though, any more casualties and we'll practically be fielding our U23 team.

    consider all who are injured

    -------------mignolet
    clyne----lovren gomez----milner
    ----------emre--gini
    -------------phil
    -------firmino-----divock
    -----------sturridge

subs grujic, taa, woodburn, the tealady jeez gettign tough to name a subs bench now

2 holding midfield to protect that dodgy looking back four..

still dont fancy it much to beat anyone.. i wouldnt partner gomez with moreno down the left flank either.... keep as many as the back four from normal as possible then its only gomez slotting in... and esp as he is a rookie you dont want an error prone moreno outside him.

he has got his work cut out to get 3 points from this game

benteke v lovren and gomez.... benteke will destroy lovren on his own... hope i am wrong but he always seemed to turn up against us...
milner will have his work cut out with zaha... is zaha smart enough to exploit the space between gomez and milner.. big weakness in the side to be targetted by zaha with pace and benteke pulling onto gomez aerially...

if we dont win this one the mancs will get their hopes up so we have to just keep winning... starting to show just how threadbare and short we were for the season even if klopp does manage to claw his way to cl qualification.

Benteke may have the incentive to want to hurt us but our players should know how atrocious his first touch is and his need for a bit of space to start going. If they do their job right and deny him space, the same way they played against Lukaku, we should be OK.

Yeah, he can, but that gives us an even weaker midfield.

I think I'd play Gomez if none of the other cbs are fit, move Coutinho into midfield, then a front 3 of Firmino, Sturridge and Origi.
    Not ideal, I know.
At least it looks like we might have Lallana back in training next week.

    Wholeheartedly agree

People forget that when we tend to only be missing 1 or 2 players our performance level drops drastically

    Still confident Matip will start.

We learned a lesson when he didn't start against Bournemouth.

    __________Mignolet

    Clyne___Matip____Lovren____Milner

    ____________Can

    ____Wijnaldum___Coutinho

    ___Firmino__Studge__Moreno

Bench: Karius, Arnold, Gomez, Stewart, Grujic, Woodburn, Origi

That's the team I'd like to see considering the injuries.

If Matip doesn't play, whatever variation of centrebacks we play Benteke will butt **** us.

Puncheon will have his annual liverpool worldy against us.

Not confident about this game at at all

Big Sam will have been downing pint glasses of wine and planning his summer holidays. Can't see Palace having as much desire to win this one as us, put it this way they damn well shouldn't considering what's at stake for us.

Also they're missing Sakho and Dann. Their preferred centre back pairing. Delaney and Tomkins (only back from injury) aren't nearly as solid.

Personally assuming the worst and all 3 of them are out. + the likes of Lallana etc. I would line up with the following:

    Mignolet
    Clyne Lovren Gomez Milner
    Can
    Trent Wijnaldum
    Firmino Origi Coutinho

Subs: Karius, Whoever is fittest out of the 3, Moreno, Grujic, Wilson, Woodburn, Studge

Far far far from our best team, but hopefully we can still play with enough intensity to win despite the injuries.
I wouldn't cry if I saw that line up on Sunday.

The key to this match is the same as any other team . stop the threat at source .

Long balls up the Benteke , The midfield chase the second ball and try and get it out wide to Zaha and Townsend to attack.

So it is important to press the long ball forward and win the second ball midfield battle . Then we will ''earn the right'' to play our forward game.

Crystal Palace at home, our fans who are privileged to be at the stadium on Sunday need to be the the extra player all the way. Yes Zaha & Benteke as well as others have been playing well but so have we.

Just because we not scoring 3+ goals a game does not mean we cannot catch them on the counter....our defenders have got to press and stay sharp throughout. I'm hoping Milner gets pushed into MF as he was poor at WBA. Give Moreno a go as we need the speed to stay with Zaha and the ability to carry the ball up field. Even AAN I will be happy with as he has come along in leaps and bounds.

Not easy but I have faith that Firminio will be running rings around their defenders...

    We win....no excuses.

Unfortunately we don't have too much choice if the injuries are true and we want to keep some kind of solidity. Some suggestions to have Coutinho in MF or Moreno come in, but ultimately we have to respect C Palace and we need defensive solidity. T
hus with Trent, Emre and Wiji I think we should have a very energetic MF who could win the ball back quickly before they can get at our frail defence.

I'm not for a second saying I'm happy with this line up, but with the circumstances I think it's about as balanced as we can hope for

Tbh it doesn't feel good to say but I have very slim expectations for this game. Our injury list is beyond a joke and we up against a team that has beaten Chelsea and Arsenal recently...

That has upset written all over it :/

Please footballing gods...let me be wrong on this!

same for every game thats left i think now, we know its not going to be pretty and been expecting it considering how often we pick up injuries and the lack of squad depth.... just keep winning any way we can..

I hope Matip makes it. Regardless, we cannot match their aerial prowess so we need to contain their wing play. They like attacking down the wings and we need to find ways of foiling that. Our midfield should also be alert and focus on dealing with secondary balls as there will be several knock-downs. Most of all, we need to keep them busy at the other end (their loss of Dann, Sakho, etc. cannot be insignificant) and take advantage of their misfortunes. As long as we keep it on the floor and shift the ball quickly, we can really surprise their defense. I hope Klopp insists on quick transitions and keeping the ball on the ground.

Well that's a bit more encouraging and if those 2 are fit enough to start, it shouldn't affect the set up too much.
