Coming up next, a home match against Crystal Palace. We go into this game in good form - last 5 - WWDWD as do Crystal Palace who's last five are - DWLWW

After the last match which saw us keep a clean sheet, that will do the confidence good for the team and for our push for a top 4 finish.

The away fixture earlier in the season saw us come away with a 4-2 victory.

I appreciate the fact that threads in here have to be approved, but is there any chance the OP could contain something a little more thoughtful? I'd sooner approve a thread where someone has given the upcoming match a bit of thought. Thanks.

Was a thrilling game in reverse fixture.

Got to watch out for Zaha Puncheon Townsend and Benteke

Sakho not eligible and I think Dann is injured....should make things easier.

Lallana Hendo won't be fit for this so I guess same XI as today.

The away fixture remains one of our most enjoyable and impressive results this season imo ... Thinks looked dodgy early on, then we gained full control and looked beautifully clinical.

Will be VERY tough ... but with home advantage and another weeks rest, I'd hope we'll have enough to beat them.

    I assume Sakho can't play?

    Thats more like it, ta.

We've got over two big hurdles in Stoke and WBA away, Palace at home is another tricky one with another pain of a manager in Allardyce. I can still see us winning this one too though.

Yeah I can. We battled today in midfield too. Though Lucas was excellent today. Could be an important player for us in the coming weeks.

Putting in one good game a season is the definition of a crap player. I do not fear crap players, a top club like us shouldn't.

    Last five in this fixture:
Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace (PL, 2015/16)
Liverpool 1-3 Crystal Palace (PL, 2014/15)
Liverpool 4-1 Crystal Palace (PL, 2013/14)
Liverpool 3-2 Crystal Palace (PL, 2004/05)
Liverpool 0-2 Crystal Palace (FA Cup 3R Replay, 2002/03)

Big Sam last five v Liverpool:
    Liverpool 2-2 Sunderland (PL, 2015/16)
    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool (PL, 2015/16)
Liverpool 2-0 West Ham (PL, 2014/15)
West Ham 3-1 Liverpool (PL, 2014/15)
West Ham 1-2 Liverpool (PL, 2013/14)

Their front three are in very good form (Townsend, Benteke, Zaha) so our defence faces another big test. Sakho's ineligibility should help us going forward though.

They found form with the arrival of Sakho who has been a leader at the heart of their defence, he won't be available for them though which is great news for us.

Slightly harsh. What exactly would you like to see to spark debate? Surely, it doesn't need an essay on what factors are at hand. Most fans are fully aware. Plus, why should the thread starter have the power of agenda setting?

Thanks MacFoley for taking the time to start this thread.

Sakho can't play. If he plays, I'll eat my hat.

And where did you get it from that Matip, Can and Milner are out. I would need more than a pinch of salt to swallow the sauce you are sending out.

Surely, despite it being a Big Sam team, it's another coping with the counter-attack and set-piece routine, whilst keeping possession, playing between the lines and round the back via the wings?

We need to watch Big Ben, because Palace have got him doing what he's (fairly) good at, which is hitting teams on the break (something it was never necessary for us to do).

I remember him playing well for Villa in that capacity, and I think that was the basis of us buying him. We all should know by now that he's more than a big unit in the box. If anything this is one of the weaker areas of his game - he's much better countering with a bit of space in front of him.

That said, our defence with the likes of Can and Lucas in front of it has been doing well recently to cancel this sort of stuff out. And long may it continue!

    It's not harsh at all.

If posters want a match thread approving, then it will be content rather than time of posting that will decide which one is chosen, from now on.

There are often several contenders for each game.

Who's even going to be playing CB for them? We carved them up pretty well at their place, no reason we can't do the same against a depleted side at our place.

As for a line-up, barring mid-week injuries the same XI unless Lallana or Henderson is fully fit, in which case Lucas heads back to the bench in their favor.

It's starting to look like some sort of competition. Like there is a price of some sort for who gets to post more threads.
