    Manninger, player of the season.

Interesting. When we had that difficult run, Manninger was giving the advice. That helps explain some stuff if Lallana and co were taking tips from a third choice semi-retired goalkeeper.

Remember, he's basically a white, elongated Yoda.

Turn the season around, you will.

I think it would be interesting if we bought VVD for 50 and unskinny bop for 80m...I feel we could buy a bit smarter but who knows the results buying two player for that or buying more 4 30m players.

I'm more bothered by the comments about loads of our players stepping up this season.

    Stepping up to what exactly?

And reached (and indeed lost) two cup finals.

So who are these lots of big players who have stepped up to the plate, and what have they stepped up to?

When the going got tough mid season (when we were in a terrific position) we had a spectacular collapse. Only when all chance of silverware had been thrown away tamely did we mount a mini revival of sorts to hang in there with a top 4 chance, and that in itself was greatly helped by the fact we had so few games this season.

Make no mistake, wether we limp over the line and claim 4th or throw it away, nobody 'stepped up' this season.

Okay, 'stepped up' is pushing it but we've definitely improved. Anyway you want to look at it, goals scored, points, league position, goals conceded.

Imagine blowing our budget on 4 players.

    M'bappe
    Kieta
    VVD
    Sessegnon

That would give us zero depth but a serious team (apart from the fullbacks).

    ------------Mignolet-------------
    TAA----Matip---VVD-----Sessegnon
    --------------Can-----------------
    -----Keita----------Coutinho----
    --------------Firmino------------
    -------Mané-----M'bappe-------

Leandro Paredes. Now that's a player who can change our games dynamic. No more endless sideway passing to nowhere that we see now

If we managed to land Keita and Coutinho dropped into midfield then that would solve our sideways passing issue.

That front 6 is filthy, go shower yourself

Im hoping Mbappe stays put for another season whilst we get ourselves sorted and show we can be CL and PL contenders/winners. That may give us a chance for him the season after

Lacazette was speaking to L'Equipe. Atletico transfer can't be confirmed because of their transfer ban. They expect this will be lifted.

However, there's no guarantee the ban will be shortened

I'd love to know how much this much talked about huge transfer kitty is.
    £100mill
    £150mill
    £200mill
    £100mill plus sales

    I'd guess the last one

They only have one option now is to spend spend spend to get out of the downward spiral and if that fails they will end up in a very similar state as we are after the 1990's

9pm: Gareth Bale has reportedly told Real Madrid’s board they must do all they can to sign Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn.

Spanish publication Don Balon claim Bale has warned Madrid they can’t miss out on fellow Welshman Woodburn with Barcelona also said to be considering making a move for him.

Liverpool are unlikely to want to part with their youngest ever goalscorer though with the 17-year-old under contract until 2019.

Earlier this month Woodburn won Liverpool's Academy Players' Player of the Season award.

I dont think coutinho can play in midfield 2. Player like Paredes offer so many flexibility and formation and he is not the hottest property yet.
