Damn, one of those bands that got me into music again in the 90s. Superunknown sat in my car stereo for a good 9 months, I was addicted.

He was playing here in STL this weekend.

I was reading about his this morning, and apparently he had a 4-octave vocal range. That is insane.

He was unique. Only Jeff Buckley had a vocal range that was comparable to him.

Roy Orbison had a very good vocal range. Elvis said that Orbison was the best rock singer he had heard.

One of the best rock vocalists ever.

So many of the grunge front men have now passed. I hope Eddie Vedder is in a good place and looking after himself.

    RIP Chris

Only time I've caught him live was when they were touring their first Album under Audioslave at the Download festival, tbh I wasn't that bothered about that album until I saw them live, one of the best gigs I've been to! Wow, that was back in 2003! Anyway, Soundgarden has found itself back into my car stereo after god knows how many years. Sorry to see him pass.

Lead singers of 3 groups I listened to a lot in the 90's have all gone, Chris Cornell Soundgarden, Kurt Cobain Nirvana and Layne Staley Alice In Chains.

Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots too.

Absolutely devastated, will take a long time to get over this. A tough one to take. One of the greatest artists I've had the pleasure of seeing live on a few occasions.

    RIP Cornell
