Delusional, maybe, but it's what the silly season is all about.

IF the rumours are right we may have a better chance of a deal like this rather than Naby as RB seem to be reluctant to sell and they don't need the money.

Just to add to the line ups if that was the case that Auba is a real target, just a bit of a dream team but it shows we have a real opportunity to create a realistic title challenging squad with those types of targets linked, for me Aubameyang is a super player but even without him if we get that top level midfielder we become a serious contender.

    .....................Mig

    Clyne....Matip....VVD....Mendy

    ...................Can
    .......Firmino......Coutinho
    Mane............................Salah
    ............Aubameyang

Probably not the finished names as if we can do a deal we can see Naby alongside Cou with Firmino/Sturridge up front, we have a very decent back up options with plenty of cover to rotate without hurting the quality.

You know what stands out in his goals for me? Just how good Dembele is.

I guess it all depends on how big a club you think we are. Are we this has been outfit that top players no longer want to play for?

That a dim view and I pity it.

Imo all that stands in the way of us and these players is our owners and how ambitious they want to be.
This , we are in a better position than we have bin for a while to build , we should be looking at players of this Calibre , we COULD be a very big club , if we acted like it

I hope this rumour being more than realistic indeed,

let's figure out how we could be such a devastating attacking team with an uptop outlet as Aubameyang, with Coutinho, Manč and Salah to feed him up into the

space, and with the movements the gabonese could guarantee in behind the opposing defences to open up further spaces for the outbursts of our attacking

    midfielders!!

try to think, mates, about how strong our starting eleven could be!!!

We'd win the league with Aubameyang.

I'd be amazed if we signed him though.

I'm not really bothered if we're bottom of the list of priorities of clubs he'd like to sign for. He's a top class player and if we can ever get this Salah deal sewn up, we'll have one of the most fearsome forward lines in Europe. If he delivers the goods for a couple of seasons, I'm more than happy to **** him off to Real, Barca or wherever for £90 million or so sovs.

Slightly worried about the cost and age, but surely he is looking for a pay day. It will be his last major contract that he has power negotiating.

Reminds of the Aguero dreamland ruminating on here before his Citeh move. Mata. The list is endless.

But THIS time will be different!

Why would you be worried about his age? He's literally just turned 28.

He's playing around 45 games a season for the last five or six years too. The fella is seldom injured.

As for the price, we were supposedly looking to spend £45-50m on Van Dijk, and the same in Keita. I don't think £60m would be beyond us if that is true.

This is a signing you wouldn't think twice about paying that money for.

I find it quite repugnant of our own fans asking if we're being deluded thinking we can sign a top class player.

It's insulting to our team and our manager. Hey Coutinho, do you really think Aub would really play with you? Hey Klopp, do you really think Aub would want to play for you?

Hey everyone in the stadium, do you really think Aub would want to play in front of you lot?

    Are you all deluded?

But again, this is up to FSG to prove they're serious about winning the league without a Leicester type miracle.

That's not it though. I'm sure he would like to play for us. The problem people are saying is he'd probably rather play for a load of other teams before us. Which is why people are saying no chance.

There's no *********** about with a move like this. If we're serious, we need to go in with a serious opening bid of at least £60-65 million.

Don't be ridiculous mate, that's the most ludicrous thing I've ever seen.

You've got Firmino in there twice.

Still the same thing. People need to get that out of their mindset. If the fans don't think their own club is big enough why should the players?

We are a big enough club, the only thing holding us back is FSG. They've spent nothing in a long time, left us short last season, messed up the VVD signing.

Aubameyang would go a long way to repairing that damage. I'd at least expect to see some serious bids being put in, and if we miss out in the end to City or Chelsea, at least we tried our best.

Top players also want to see the ambition a club has before joining.

Certainly if we want to compete at the top end of the scale, these are the sort of signings that we have to make. If we're happy just getting to the odd cup final and making the very occasional CL appearance, then sign Oxlade-Chamberlain and confirm that you have absolutely no ambition whatsoever.

Love your optimism. Fact is we have a one every three to four year visit to the champ league. Won a cup back in 2006 and haven't won anything since.

If you think current gen players (who by the way weren't even born when we last won the league) are considering Liverpool as that step up in their career think again.

But.. Still not as big as a lot of other clubs. Which in hand relates to my first point. You may get the odd 1 top player who will come here but generally they go to bigger clubs which is evident by rarely ever signing any.
