Before anyone starts, I'm not obsessed about them or anything like that. I just thought I'd start a thread about them, seeing they've signed so many players and are talking themselves up

I actually think they've made some sensible signings so far. Pickford could be their keeper for the next 10 year's. Keane and Sandro look decent signings as well

Can they break into that top 6? They can, of course they can. Everything's got to click right into place for them to do that though, and still could lose Lukaku. I think it's going to be an interesting season for them, either way. Thanks a lot.

Before talking about them breaking into the top 6, you should be asking who will drop out? I cant see Everton overtaking anyone in the top 6 even if they keep Lukaku.

Also if we'd signed Keane and Pickford for 60m this place would have imploded.

Not a hope. They have spent a lot of money on a lot of average. Remind me of when we spent lots on the likes of Downing, Carroll etc

No, unless someone like Arsenal or Spurs inexplicably have a bad season. They've signed no game changers, just made their squad a bit thicker. Everyone in the top six already has better players and will likely sign more better players.

I think they've signed some good players. Klaassen keane and pickford are all efficient players. Sandro has a lot of talent but will it translate.

You're quite right. I'm thinking of in terms of them getting cl football.

I actually think they can break into that top 6. Someone has to perform below expectations though.

It would need a catastrophic implode from someone like us or Spurs and Everton to have a fantastic season, yes its possible of course but I cant see it happening. More chance of that though than Leicester winning the league!

I actually think their fans have talked themselves into a corner, where they have to walk the walk now.

The big one for me is Lukaku. If he leaves it's gonna be extremely hard to bridge that gap.

    Nah.

They will stay in their own mini league with themselves and cement 7th place. Stuck in no mans land. Going to be boring for them they would be better off not improving and getting in a relegation battle at least it would be more interesting to watch.

FFS why are we signing a Burnley player. Sell him in January and buy John Terry, even though he is a Villa player, see if we can get our fixture at Stamford Bridge moved forward so we played them by the time he signed. He is a Man Utd reject, you don't win anything with Man Utd rejects, apart from Leicester winning the league. I'll ignore Man Utd wanted him back, and say they were not serious or they would have got him as we can't get players ahead of them. They only put in a bid, so we bid more and they get more with the sell on fee. We've just handed Man Utd 7 million with this signing, any player they sign now for 7 million or less who turns out to be good, it's us who paid for it thanks to buying crap like Keane, and we've handed them this player, even if he is the 5th 7 million player they've signed with the 7 million. Anyone they sign for 7 million or less who is crap, anyone saying we funded the signing is talking nonsense as they have billions and we can't laugh at the signing when we spent more on Keane, even if he ends up being player of the season.

FFS why are we signing Sunderland keeper. We did that with Mignolet, replacing Mignolet with Mignolet 2.0. Spending 30 million on a player in the lower league. How can we break the world transfer record for goal keepers for a goal keeper who got relegated.

Man Utd finished 6th. Arsenal finished 5th. In which mathematical equation world does that mean they dropped out of the top 6. I don't get how we are starting the season at Watford, as I used you mathematical equation and concluded they dropped out of the league last season.

Agreed, the same thought crossed my mind yesterday, but if anything we bought average English players who at least were first or second choice internationals, Pickford and Keane are 3rd choice at the very best, they will do ok but nowhere near top 6.

I don't have that hatred for Everton many seem to think is compulsory as my dad and many of my mates are blues so plenty of other teams I reserve my complete distaste for.

Spurs will be an interesting proposition next season, 38 aways games effectively and they were pretty awful at Wembley last season.

That aside I can't really see anyone else breaking the top 6 next season

Apparently they tried to get the pitch measurements changed but we're not allowed to do do. I agree that it could be a factor.

From one of the smallest to one of the biggest pitches. That will have an impact.

I think they will lose more points at home than they did last year and be in a battle to make top 4

Yes but the aim for us isn't top six, it's a title challenge.
