don' tthink its quite that simple. some of those same teams were "sitting back" when we first played them and won easily enough. agree that at times maybe another option like a costa or kane could be a solution. but we already have one of those, a sturridge.

We have plans A, B and C with Firmino, Sturridge and Origi. What we need is a top striker so that plan A is the only plan.

It's designed to stop teams getting in behind a high line. The response to that kind of defence isn't to just hoof and hope.

That's exactly the kind of job I'd love tbh.

A pacy finisher in the Hernández mould would be a really good idea. In fact I'd say it's a priority.

Our best option would be Vardy, end of. With the service our midfield would give him he would score 20+ a season. He's made for Liverpool F.C., fast, energetic and deadly. I don't know why Klopp has not got him in his sights.

I can see us falling short of an amazing season because we dont have a top class striker.

Past 2 games all strikers have offered nothing while players around have been playing well.

We really should go in for Aubameyang

Although Danny Ings is yet to see.

    It's pre-season.

Our first choice striker literally created our goal tonight.

And failed to convert a chance just like last season, he doesn't have that instinct or that selfish streak that makes great strikers prolific

He made a mistake but it's not like he took the shot on and missed. He tried to be unselfish and pass it back to banana.

Sturridge is one of the most prolific strikers in the world. He put a one-on-one 10 yards wide tonight.

That's just it a prolific striker is selfish in those kind of situations that self confidence in his finishing is missing

    Sturridge is a proper striker.

    Firmino is not.

    We need Aubameyang.

Sell Origi and Ings if you have to make room.

    >Aubameyang, Sturridge, Firmino, Solanke<

    -------------Mig

    Clyne - Matip - VVD - Robbo

    ---------Can -- Keita

    Mane-----Coutinho------Salah

    ----------Aubameyang

Karius, Lovren, Milner, Henderson, Lallana, Firmino, Sturridge

I'm all about this, but I'd sell sturridge and keep origi.

I'd prefer to see Sturridge make a comeback because he'd score a lot more than Origi, but with his injury history I'd be happy to sell him on if we needed the funds for Auba.

Firmino should only be back up for the main striker.

For most of the season I would have Firmino rotate with Coutinho, keep them as fresh as possible throughout.
