They must really have low ambitions for a club that wants to compete with Napoli & Roma

Feels very similar to when Kuyt left.

You know it has to happen, and you know you need a higher standard of player but you'll still miss that hard work, effort and commitment.

Replace 'are you gonna miss your mum' with 'Lucas has left' and that's my reaction.

He's awesome. Love him to bits, best of luck to him.

Hopefully by the time the season starts, he'll be missed in the dressing room more so than on the pitch. All the best to him.

How this player progressed and became a part of Liverpool Football Club, the city and just a great footballer. We should be proud of him, how we nurtured him and how he repaid the club with his commitment and loyalty. It doesn't get any better than that. All the best to you and your family, Lucas. Once a red always a red, YNWA.

Can't believe Lucas was wearing a Lazio scarf whilst still a Liverpool player.

I thought he was supposed to be a Scouser who loved this club??!

The deal was obviously done once a fee was agreed and personal terms were agreed.

By the look of Lazio’s twitter feed here: https://twitter.com/OfficialSSLazio Lucas may have been asked to pose with the scarf by Lazio.

In that event, what would you have had him do exactly? Toss the scarf onto the floor, burn it and break out into a rendition of YNWA before storming on the plane back to L4?

In my view, Lucas’ feelings for LFC are clearly evidenced by what he’s done during his time here.

why do folks on internet get bothered by a single person posts.

Its like if a person posts that earth is flat, everyone will jump to convince him/her rather than let the person believe what they want to. Its not like the person is our responsibility to correct or the internet forum matters that everything needs to be right all the time.

Who’s bothered? The irony here is that I was going to add one last sentence to that post reading “Mountains, molehills and all that.” – and I couldn’t even be bothered to type that.

As for your emboldened point above, I think you’ll find that my challenging @Ganymede’s view is all part of debate - which, provided I adhere to the T’s and C’s, is something we’re all permitted to do.

Ultimately though of course you’re right: @Ganymede is entitled to his or her view, as am I and so are others. There is however no requirement for everyone to agree.

Maybe the deal’s been more or less agreed and Lucas thought that he’d be better off endearing himself to his new club and fans by complying with a request to be photographed with a Lazio scarf, rather than decline the request because he needs to convince you that he still loves LFC.

Unless Lucas develops a massive and sudden case of amnesia, I doubt that he’ll forget about his time at Liverpool FC, and vice versa. However, that will of course count for nothing if we play a Lazio side containing Lucas in future seasons which, in my view, is exactly as it should be (assuming Lucas does in fact complete his move).

Other than that what can I say? Jurgen and other LFC club staff currently don’t seem bothered by events, so I don’t see why I should be. If indeed Lucas has stepped out of line, then Jurgen’s treatment of Mama illustrates how things might pan out….but I rather doubt that will happen currently.

Seriously Gany, that is the dumbest post I've seen this summer.

And that's from a very competitive shortlist

I'll always remember that string of games right before his ACL where he looked incredible.
