Like Nathanielo Clyneo, who everyone thought was the best rb in the league, for some reason.

My opinion is that he's worse than both of our lbs but presumably won't play much and now we'll have a wide player on that side so the fb won't have to do much going forward

Bah. Not a big fan of his but luckily I don't think left back is all that important. We've achieved great things with astonishingly average left backs in the past.

And in a world where Kyle Walker is worth 50m, Robertson at 8m is a bargain.

I'm fine with this as long as we get Keita and VVD. Side should be strong enough overall to cope in case Robertson is another Konchesky.

    50m for Walker.

    I am absolutely staggered.

Decent player and I'm hoping Klopp had seen something he feels he can develop.

But my own view for now is that we could do better
Robertson does look decent at best but it seems some are more impressed by players who have exotic names, we need a fullback that can defend first and foremost.
Maybe we could do better but outside of Tierney and the seemingly city bound Mendy there did not seem to be too many other solid suggestions, in Robertsons favour now he does not have to much of an expectation to live up to.

Could be worse we could be paying 53 million for Kyle "brain dead" Walker https://www.theguardian.com/football...-deal-defender

It's insane. I wouldn't pay more than 45m for him.

Hopefully he is competent enough to play a boring no frills no mistakes 90 minutes every now and then. I suppose a left foot on the left is a bonus too, not much else to say. Good luck to the lad.

I don't think any full back ever should be worth that, let alone one who can't defend or pass.

Spurs must be in absolute stitches, seeing as Trippier kept him out of their side for most of last season. Absolutely ludicrous fee.

I'm pretty sure Poch dumped Walker because he was agitating for a move during the season.

I think Walker is pretty good but I hope under Pep, that he reverts to the defensive liability he was before Poch joined Spurs.

I never thought he was great, to be honest. A slightly better version of Glen Johnson. Starting to wonder what the likes of Denis Irwin would've made in today's football market.

There has to be something dodgy in that deal, that's the only possible explanation

I have a feeling he will play in premiership games, he's the type of man that player who always plays well in the background

Not at all. Far better than Kyle Walker though! Football is gone mad.

I think Walker will do well for City.

I agree about the fee though, crazy.

Alves in his prime would be worth that in today's market. Walker is most definitely not
