IF we signed Keita and VVD along with probably Robertson with Salah already in
What are we short after that to challenge for this title????
    Imo we still need

    Migs ( a top keeper)
    Clyne upgrade needed
    Matip
    VVD
    Robertson average enough need better.
    Lallana
    Keita
    Coutinho
    Mane
    Firmino proper no9 needed.
    Salah

Worryingly iv our defence is still short we are not far away at all our full back areas are average

I agree with that assessment, although I'd play a different variation of the mid you picked as I prefer Keita as an 8 rather than 6, but we could have done with so many this summer, problem was always cb and cm was priority , perhaps this time next year Trent will have played a blinder and we will be talking about bringing in competition for him rather than clyne (clyne will start season, but you never know, trents impressed me ).

Anyway new twitter thread, exciting times, If things go well then during this thread we sign Robertson and possibly Keita, if things go even better perhaps vvd also.

Reading through RB Leipzig fan forum, it looks like they might have FFP constraints to meet (not sure Google translate is doing a very good job mind).

Nevertheless, they are resigned to seeing Keita go for a good fee in excess of 60m as they think it will help with FFP.

Man City inform Monaco they'll go to €130M for Kylian Mbappe #MCFC #ManCity

Manchester City are launching a world record bid for AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

While Real Madrid have stepped back from the negotiating table and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger denies reports of an offer, City are ramping up their pursuit this week.

RMC says City chiefs are in contact with Monaco intimating a willingness to meet their €130 million valuation for Mbappe.

Just Friday, the teen conceded he "didn't know" if he would be playing with ASM next season.

And encouraging for City comes news today that Mbappe refused to put his autograph on a Real Madrid shirt for one fan while in Switzerland.

Unless when he said he wanted Liverpool he meant the city! But seriously, I agree. Can't see him going to Everton, although Southampton may push for that

Just pay it and get it over with. It's obvious we have set aside the majority of the budget for Keita and VVD so do the deal and stop wasting everyone's time.

Ridiculous if true. Very good player but I would not spend 75 million on him. I'm not sure how we are meant to afford both him and Keita.

75 million? They will take it and run if we offered it

Good player but 75 million is just insane money for him. We sold Suarez for around that money three years back just to put it in perspective.

If your talking about putting things into perspective
    50mill for Sigurdsson
    50mill for walker
    50mill for stones
VVD is 4 times the player any of the above are

So you want us to pay 200m for him then?

Chelsea got Rudiger for 30m. Manolas was on the verge of signing for Zenit for something like 35m euros before it fell through.

For even more perspective, watford said no to £30M for troy deeney last year, and Swansea want £50M for gylfi! It's a lot of money but all the fees are ridiculous.

Yup the effect of TV money but then again if we sold Sakho for 25-30mil, the net spend is 40.

That doesn't really put it into perspective. Things have changed. It might have only been 3yrs ago, but it's a completely different market now. Especially this year, where it's all ridiculously inflated. If we was to sell Suarez in this window, he would have gone for double the 75mil that he went for back then. If someone like Lukaku can go for a the reported £75 million, plus another £15 million in add-ons. Then I'd definitely say VVD is worth the 75mil. Just get it paid.
