This has been done to death. There's only so much an individual can do. The system has been flawed for years.

Both horribly bad but it's worth noting Klavan Lovren, Skrtel Lovren were both worst.

    Lovren has to go.

Indeed. Carragher has been giving detailed criticism of the defence...let's bring him back as defensive coach and knock some organisation into the lads. Might prove more useful than spending over the mark for defensive players, only to have them work in the same crazy system.

    Lovren has to go.
I don't think many people will argue with you on that assertion. He was actually hiding at times today

Big Martin at his best was miles better than both Lovren and Matip. Sakho is the best CB at the club.

I don't think we are better at all. We haven't improved and it's a disgrace!

Skrtel had his faults but he was better than what we have now.

Agree and sakho is more of a fighter than any of them.

It's a very poor sign when people are feeling nostalgic for Martin Skrtel.

Skrtel used to have one good season, one bad season, so It depends on what season you get him at.

Skrtel got so much crap but he was a better defender and had bigger balls than anything we have right now.

TBF I think it would be a nightmare to a CB in both a Rodgers' and Klopp team.

Your FB's leave you be, there is no DM to speak up, your constantly being pulled out wide to defend :FP:

Best we have looked defensively in recent times is when Rodgers' reverted to a back three.

You sure you've got Sakho and Lovren the right way around?

Well I was judging them as a partnership in a whole.

Lovern is decent with ball at feet, watch the ball he played over the top with his left to Firmino for Salah's goal today. We struggle aerially with our current duo.

I always found Sakho a bit hit and miss in the air, but his passing was better than our midfielders'. So good at direct, incisive balls through the lines.

Sakho's passing from the back is excellent, but he heads the ball like a tortoise would.

Leave Skrtel out of this you called him the common denominator for years to why we were so horrible defensively. It's funny though how the last decent defensive side we had was with him

I am the biggest ever Sakho HATER , I really honestly think he is utterly useless , not even good enough for a Sunday league pub side, ( and this is me being polite ) but have to be fair after watching that crap non performance yesterday , he would have fitted in there very well along with al the other crap that was on the field . I did like Skrtel though ,m we could have done with a bit of his grit ??? Lovren good but very inconsistent , Matip , I hope just an off day , he's been really good since arriving

The way it is with Liverpool, the best centre half is the one that is not playing
