Mane man of the match for a second match in a row, coincidently firmino was absolutely excellent again.

Disagree. Emre Can was the best player on the pitch.

When he had the ball going at Holding(?) and I saw the space there was to the right of him, I could already see the ball curling into the corner. such a good player.

He was icing his knee at the end and hobbling pretty well down the tunnel, hopefully he's okay. Or maybe just not okay enough to get a rest during the break!

Salah should have had a couple, you could pick the MOTM from a number of candidates but when you win so well and so many played well MOTM seems almost insulting (as other games it will be much clearer and fewer candidates, but same number of MOTMs ie 1)

Certainly making a nonsense of some of the silly money transfers and belief you have to pay £75m+ to buy quality, albeit we nabbed him a window early before the stupid money transfers really kicked in

As I've said many a time, right player, right time and right price, he ticked all three boxes whereas some this summer struggle to tick more than one....

If we sign a back up for Mané, will he be called Man B?

I knew he was good but didn't think he was of a higher quality than what we already had.

Was completely wrong, he's made us a completely different prospect.

He was signed primarily to take Milners spot at RW.

I knew he'd bring something we lacked, that pace and directness, I just didn't expect him to be this good! He's been absolute quality from day one.

Yeh, I have to admit I, like most of us, thought we'd paid over the odds and wasn't completely sold on him when we signed him. Boy was I/were we wrong eh? He's been devastating since day 1 and hasn't let up. I still think he has more in the tank too, the sky's the limit for him. Massive props to Klopp for picking him out and getting him in, a masterstroke of a signing.

Some quotes from the original "Liverpool interested in Sadio Mane" thread.

If this happens, will it be another Southampton flop ... Would not pay 30m let alone 40m that Southampton want.
Our top 3 biggest signings: Carroll, Benteke and potentially Mane. No wonder we're **********.
mane would be a good signing but 30mil ****
Sorry to say,but its about time we stoped paying big money for average players,,lol kenny got suarez ask kenny to find us players,,,
How many times are we going to let Saints take out pants down on cost of players. Just look elsewhere for players FFS
Time to have a rethink, 30 million, what is going on?

    Do we ever learn.
Another signing that just utterly lacks ambition, vision and effort ... IF it happens.

I GET that we aren't a big player any more, but when will this money burning end. Mane is decent player, but there's NOTHING special about him at all ... it's a sideways step that eats away a huge chunk of money.
I see it like a jigsaw , you need a variety of different pieces to complete it, Mane's pace and direct threat is a piece we have lacked since Sterling left , Mane has far better end product than Sterling too.

    Good signing for me
This is exactly why we shouldn't pay more than £20m for Mane if we are actually interested in him, he shouldn't be considered as a big money signing because he's not a big money player. There were periods last season where Koeman left him on the bench because he was bang average, he's not a Suarez or a Torres, I hope to god we don't make the same mistake we have made so often lately which is buying players for big money when they are simply not worth the money.

I hope we walk away from this possible deal if the fee is more than £20m.

VERY few rated him ... and based on choppy form for Southampton I wasn't keen ... at all. But hindsight is a wonderful thing ... and based on Mane AS HE WAS, his signing was risky.

Turns out he was a VERY rare example of Liverpool actually getting pure gold for the price of tin.

He's incredible ... now ... and I wouldn't swap him for anyone in this league. Genuinely not a single player I rate more.

Not that rare under our new manager, though. Maybe we finally have turned that corner...
