Dear god man. When he plays, he gives his all and that's all I care about.

If in doubt, the agent HAS to blame the wife.

Remember us not getting Sanchez because his wife preferred London for the shopping...that was also a good one

Some media outlets (newspapers) now suggesting Coutinho to Barcelona for £128m has been agreed for January 18. I really hope not. That is too low a transfer fee for an amazing player who has now found top form.

This the same media that were categorically saying he was leaving all last Summer?

    Thought so...

On 50 seconds of the highlights Coutinho makes the decision to face the Anfield Road end for the first half. Loved seeing him wear that armband. I'm buzzing he plays for Liverpool. For me he's the most exciting player in the world. He looked like Zidane last night. Stick with Klopp Coutinho, he's making you a star.

No wonder Barcelona want him. He is literally Liverpool's and the Premier League's answer to Andres Iniesta. Only more prolific.

It would be really sad to lose Coutinho. Even more so now than it would have been in the summer.

Ditto. Unless he is agitating behind the scenes in the dressing room and training pitch, we should not sell him in January.

Sad, it would be criminal to lose him, he really is making us tick and if you are the opposition we’re the hell do you start to look to mark?
With Countinho pulling the strings you can’t just go out and try and stop him playing as you have Bobby running all over and Mane and Salah, wow it is mind boggling. They way they cut through Spartak was just sublime. We have to do whatever we can to keep our little Magic Brazilian. Given that have numerous defensive players if we can get VVD I believe the addition of Keita in the summer is a real strengthening sign for the club.

He won't be sold in January, that would be a total joke now.
Most likely he would go in the summer, he has probably been persuaded to stay one more season just like we did with Suarez.

If Coutinho goes I’d love to see Wijnaldum in Coutinho’s position and Keita in Wijnaldum’s.

No. I think Wijnaldum is suited to being the most advanced midfielder. I'd like to see him played in the position Coutinho plays in now where he has the license to attack with the front 3.

Besides I obviously wouldn't sell Coutinho for £100m then not buy an attacker to replace him, so you can all shut the **** up with your sarcy comments

Incredible thinking from the guy, Wijnaldum has no attacking ability what so ever and the thought he could produce even an ounce as close to what Phil can do at 50%..is remarkably fickle

Regardless of his contract and that Liverpool can legally continue to say no, I think everyone reluctantly accepts he is off next summer. He wants to go, Barca want him, so no doubt all parties will contrive to make it happen. So we need to keep our cool and plan for next season without him, that planning should already be in place.

But I wouldn't necessarily agree a fee in Jan unless its really exorbitant. Cou's current value must be at least £150m (we've seen £128 bandied about recently wherever that's come from) but if the guy continues to perform as he is and more importantly from a value perspective has a storming World Cup,we could be looking at the £200m region particularly if last summer's mad market is the benchmark.

So while we may have to accept losing him, the club still holds the cards. Barca want him that badly they better be prepared to cough up...its a sellers market.

Lallana from the current group but we would surely go out and buy a replacement

I agree. I'd love to see Wij going on strike and trying to force a move.

Gini hasn’t got the ability or the confidence in his own ability to replace Coutinho. A fit and firing Lallana could do a job for sure. Perhaps AOC or Firmino could adapt... maybe not. Obviously Mane and Salah could play that position but we need them exactly where they are.

I say we should buy Draxler and Goretzka. There are other options but none at the club. I don’t trust Woodburn yet either.

If we were to sell Coutinho I would really like us to go after Nabil Fekir to take his spot in a midfield 3.

If not, then a change of formation and 4-2-3-1 with two solid midfielders and Firmino behind a new striker.

    What can I say.

I love watching Coutinho play. Seriously, the last player who gave me that much enjoyment just watching them was Zidane. Heck, even Messi sometime feels like he is trying compared to the way Coutinho plays when he is in full flow. I will ****** miss seeing him in Liverpool colours if he decides to move on and the club accepts that. But I can't begrudge him the opportunity to represent Barcelona. Barcelona / Real Madrid is the dream for Brazilian players.

However, I think the club must be strong and not countenance selling him in January. There is no point to that at all. Barcelona can come back in the summer for him and pay us top dollar for him then. Until then, we should not even have an agreement with Barcelona for a fee. However, I wouldn't be averse to putting in a buyout clause in his contract for a suitably large number (e.g. £180m). If Barcelona is desperate enough, they will pay it.

That being said, I think we should show our support for Coutinho. He is representing us wonderfully, and playing some absolutely stupendous football right now. I think the form of Salah, Mane and Firmino seems to have inspired him to even greater heights. We should support him until the day he leaves (if he leaves). Liverpool is bigger than Coutinho, and we must not make it seem small by fearing that we are nothing without him. Lots of great players have left before. Owen left. McManaman left. Torres, Alonso, Reina and Mascherano left.
