His miss reminded me of Benteke's against Arsenal few years ago. Think Mo will turn out a tad better than Christian long term though

Can he improve his control of the ball and finishing? Klopp and his assistants could help him work on these. Combine his blazing speed, his determination, and his awareness, with improved ball control and finishing, and Salah will be a world-class player.

Its weird how they left the assist out of his "in focus" video.

The thing with Salah is that I don't actually think he's a great player. However, I do think he's a decent goalscorer. He seems to take up some very good off the ball positions, much like a poacher.

I predict he'll score at least 15 + in all competitions with around 10 assists.

    Yep

I started changing my mind in Pre season, watching him link up with Coutinho. Looks a bargain

I like the look of him, I think he'll be a new cult hero like Maxi was, always popping up with goals. Made my p*** boil when I heard what Ray (I only watch Chelski or Man Ure) Wilkins waffling on via Talksport about him

    His finishing needs to improve.

He adds another dangerous element to us which is fantastic but there's no point if he keeps missing one on one's.

Hopefully this will improve as the season goes on.

Has he ever scored a what is classed as a worldie? or a goal outside the 20 yard box?

He just seems a very tippy tappy pace merch, get as close as possible to the goal and sidefoot it kind of guy which there is nothing wrong with...but mix it up just a little once in a while

Jonjo Shelvey scored what would be called "worldies", doesn't mean he's a better player.

Or we could just give the guy some more time to find his sharpness but you've taken a different path....

    1. Whatever you say, format police.

    2. Dunno. He scores goals, could care less where they're from.

The thing with Salah is that he's incredibly good at carving chances for himself and others and creating panic in other teams' defense.

Now, of course his finishing isn't the best. If it were, we'd have one of world football's best players in our hands. I've rarely seen someone create so many chances for himself than him. All players have strengths and weaknesses.

I still think it's better to have him on the wings than say a Lallana or a Coutinho.

It's got that he's getting the opportunities. Clearly a big threat.

He, like everyone in the squad has things to work on. If he can keep improving, he will be one hell of a player.

So he's gone from player of the month to not good enough for some in the space of one game?

He should focus on his finishing. But it's his 6th game for us this season and already has fitted in pretty seamlessly. Today was just a shocker for most of our players

His finishing does need a little refinement but he offers us so much in other areas.

The way he is always willing to run the line, work on the shoulder of the defender and once he gets going he takes some catching. Wait until Coutinho is put in midfield to feed the balls through to Mane and Salah. Super signing if you ask me.

For me, Mane was the player of the month anyway. It's not one game, he's missed clear chances in four games. It's something to highlight but not get worked up about.

He offers us a lot and imo is a very good signing but if he can improve his finishing it will benefit us hugely as he gets in the positions a lot.

He has 3 goals in 6 appearances with 2 assists and defenders are scared ****less of his pace.

Yes, he needs to work on his finishing but lets not kid ourselves and think he is anyway a problem in our attack.

He's exactly the same player that he was for Roma.

He'll get double figures in goals and assists. Simple as that.
