NZ go via the 5th place South American team play off right?

    Yes.

    Argentina, actually.

Unless the Solomon Islanders put a basket-full past us.

What do they need like 38 goals to make up the difference?

Ah, let the buggers win big, and then see what they can do against Argentina! That'd teach 'em a lesson!

England tonight and I will not even tune in as I have lost all interest, I mean how can Hart be justified a place against Malta, for me its a bit like jobs for the boys, same as it was near the exact same team fielded following the defeat to Iceland, bring a new young manager and its same old same old, boring as hell and then Neville preaching on how we need to be strong, my goodness our under 18's would slaughter Malta.

Worst England team in a long time. Average players bar Kane and a clueless manager.

That England match was so bad though.
I ended up flicking between that and the Scotland match. Good to see Andy Robertson score. A good goal too.

I was nearly falling asleep in the first half.
Dire stuff but I guess it's the 3 points that matters.
Can't see Mondays game being much better as a draw would suit Slovakia.

Another win for Northern Ireland, 16 points from 7 games is a brilliant achievement for a country of that size. Just a shame they'll still have to go through a playoff and potentially meet a big team.

Covering England in football must be the easiest job in the world, you just write one article and then repeat it 4-5 times a year. How often do they not play absolutely rank against some comically low-rated opposition? The funniest thing is people always think next time will be different.

Didn't bother watching, tried to read up a bit on how Ox did but am also aware as a team the shirt is so poisoned its not really any reflection on players' ability for their clubs.

    Has Messi retired or not?

(Because obviously thats only difference between us winning or losing against Argentina )

Every time they play a team like this, they're unbelievably lacklustre. 4-0 was massively flattering, it was another below average performance.

    Very little changes with England.

Individually, decent-to-very-good players, but collectively not-so-very-good usually.

I've posted this before, but it's worth a repeat. One of the best sporting headlines, ever…

Many years ago, Sweden came to Wembley for a game. England were awful, and got punished.

The next day's headline read 'Swedes 2, Turnips 0.'

Led to the hounding of Graham Taylor and the 'turnip' insult that was always thrown at him, which never sat well with me. The media can be *****.

Unfortunate aftermath, but still a clever header!

Latest news seems to suggest his knee is just sore and not injured.
