It will. Milner I'd reckon with Robertson on the bench.

Firmino's hassling of defenders and pressing is absolutely second to none, he's as good as Suarez in that respect dare I say.

He's been brilliant recently with and without the ball. Last night again he allowed all the others around him to tick.

I think having him playing off Salah (who has been excellent in the 'striker' role) suits him better than being the focal point too. He actually seems to score more from there too funnily enough.

I thought some were saying coutinho was '100percent off in the summer'.

Here he is scoring a hattrick to send us through in the cl!

Having the opportunity to wander suits him, it suits them all to be fair. He's been keeping the ball better of late, he does sometimes tend to be careless with his passing but not recently.

When he puts it all together he's superb and a real catalyst for our attacking play.

I am so hoping we can hang on to Coutinho. If Balague is right Barca still want him but are seriously after Griezman. If thats the case then I doubt they will still be in for Cou.

He didn't celebrate much after he scored last weekend and last night or am I thinking too much?

I think the other way around. Robertson has shown enough in his previous appearances to show he's ready for it for me. He was extremely good against Brighton.

The way I saw it - the goals weren’t ‘celebration’ worthy?

Last weekend he scored the 4th goal just minutes before the end.

Last night, he scored a Pen’ very early (too early to celebrate). 2nd goal was an effortless pass in to the back of the net. 3rd goal deflected in.

Above all else, he was Captain so carried himself well with maturity

New Captain Phil! (please stay forever).

Well we already know he's keen to go but it's up to us to convince him to stay and do great things here

Yes indeed mate ... for multiple reasons.

I can't even begin to guess what his worth is now ... if we were turning down 100m+ in the summer, then by next summer it could be an amount beyond even Barca.

Bottom line ... we can't replace him ... he's got years left on his contract ... and his stature within the side only keeps continuing to rise. He is everything.

I just HOPE that we didn't do the unthinkable and promise him a move in the future if he calmed down this season and got on with playing.

Giving him the captaincy would be a nice start, clever excuse to take it off Henderson as well.

    I hope so.

With the news coming out earlier, I don't know whether is it another Suarez "you can go at the end of the season" saga.

It will be a huge step back if we sell, even when we get Keita - **** I hate Barcelona and Real Madrid, they always take players when they become world class

If Messi's new contract really is as big as reported, or even close, it's hard to see how they could afford what we'd be asking. They might just have to wait until his contract runs down a bit.

Making Phil captain was a nice gesture and I like that he took responsibility with the pen. He should be the Captain of the club because he was good at it.

Do you think Phil could try force the move?

I don't care if he stands there with a face like a smacked arse after every goal as long he continues playing that like tbh.

I don't understand why he'd want to go there now given he'd be cup tied and he has the last 16 of the champions league to look forward to with us. If we had to let him go then we should try and hold out until the summer transfer window, it would be a pretty odd decision on both the player and the club's part to let him leave in January. You never know though and to be fair to the rest of our offensive line up, we've won even when he wasn't in the team so if he truly tries to push for a move in January it is what it is and we'll move on quickly.

Or do you think Messi will force Barcelona to abandon their pursuit?

Of course. If he wants it, which he probably will.

I've already said that, as long as everything is done in a timely manner, I don't think we'd try to completely veto a move next summer. But I don't see us rolling over, for Phil or Barca. If they want him, they'll have to pay up. I have serious doubts about their ability to.

    I don't think he's going in January.

Summer, perhaps, but we need him and you are correct, he would be cup-tied in the CL if he moved.
