    Ah, good call.

So are those the teams that won their league at U19 level (or nearest?)?

Which takes priority? Group stage obviously has more games and seems to be higher profile, but the knockout route looks arguably easier - but presumably as the groups mirror the senior tournament that takes precedence?

This is how UEFA word it

    Entrants
The competition is open to the following 64 teams:
    a) The 32 youth teams of the clubs which qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League – UEFA Champions League path.

    b) The domestic youth champions of the 32 best-ranked associations in the UEFA association coefficient rankings (the same rankings used to decide access to the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League) – Domestic Champions path.

    • If a team is eligible for both, they enter the UEFA Champions League path.

    • If there is a vacancy in the UEFA Champions League path, replacement criteria will be defined by the UEFA administration.

    • A vacancy in the domestic champions path (including if a club is instead eligible for the UEFA Champions League path) is, in principle, filled by the domestic youth champion of the next best-ranked association.

The eight group winners are in the last 16

The eight group runners up now go into a play-off round with the eight 'Domestic Champions' qualifiers, one off matches, and the winners of those eight ties join the group winners in the last 16.

So, the eight group winners are through to the last 16.

    Basel
    Bayern M
    Chelsea
    Barcelona
    Liverpool
    Man City
    Porto
    Tottenham

The eight runners up will now enter a play-off round with the eight Domestic Champion path sides.

    Man U
    PSG
    Atletico Madrid
    Sporting CP
    Spartak Moscow
    Feyenoord
    Monaco
    Real Madrid

And here are the Domestic Champion qualifiers.

    Ajax
    Nitra
    Salzburg
    Brodarac
    Krasnodar
    Željezničar
    Inter Milan
    Molde

That seems a harshly exemplary punishment for a young lad from a country with a long history of such issues, and where racial abuse in the senior game is still commonplace.

I'd have thought re-education might be more appropriate than such a punishment.

It's a disgrace they don't show these games on the Liverpool TV channel. Very poor show.

Same as BT Sports not showing Reds u19s matches at home, only once against Sevilla

Re-education is useless without any sort of reinforcement. People attend those training sessions on harassment and such every year but until they get burned and crushed for it they don't learn.

Look at diving. All summer the talk was about retroactive action cutting it out but you still see it happening all over the place and since no one is being called up on it that will continue. The FA should have slammed Vardy for it and maybe things would have started changing, instead it's the same old same old...

BT Sports isn't a dedicated Liverpool football channel though.
