Unfortunately it seems as though some deranged Americans see this as a score to be beaten.

    White guy, mid 60's.

Labeled 'lone wolf' and not 'terrorist'.

It is legal to open carry an automatic rifle in Nevada without a permit. I mean, why? Seriously, why?

He had about 10 guns in his hotel room.

Had been there since the 28th of September.

Apparently he shot so many rounds that the smoke from the gun discharging set off the smoke detector in his room. Why he was found. Unimaginable.

In before the right/NRA say 'this is not the time to talk about gun control'

Listen, if the killing of 25 six year old children does nothing to change the conversation/laws, then literally nothing will.

Also, Congress this week was going to vote on repealing a common sense gun law restricting silencers on guns. People literally said last night they ran because they heard gun-fire.

Doubt they'll vote on it this week. Shouldn't vote for it ever.

Yep, and to shoot from the 32nd floor, where he knew nobody could shoot back at him with any accuracy.

Not sure, one report said he was dead when they 'breached the room'.

Allegedly, they found his room because all the gun smoke set off the smoke alarm.

They frame it as a 'health issue' because people who fire guns a lot lose their hearing. It's unbelievable.

Why are they firing guns a lot? That there is the problem. I go over to the US every 2 years and it’s a place I really love and would love living there but simple things like going the shop for food, anyone in there could have a gun. It’s madness that it’s just normal, I’ve never touched a gun in my life and probably seen one a handful of times when armed police are around.

Just too terrible .. as always - RIP to those who died, and a speedy recovery to those who got injured. And, by god, am I sick and tired of saying those particular words over and over in these threads .. we have threads of this nature far, far too often on these forums

Concealed carry and open carry are up there with the stupidest things you can have. There is literally no point in having a gun in public if you're a private citizen.

ISIS are claiming responsibility despite what the police have said about it being a lone wolf attack. Looks like ISIS are trying to make this a terror incident - they are a parody of themselves.

For those advocating the right to bear arms:

Las Vegas mass shooting is 273rd of 2017

Gun Violence Archive, a website that tracks incidents and crimes involving guns across the United States, said Sunday night's attack was the 273rd mass shooting in the country this year.

It defines a "mass shooting" as four or more people being shot at the same time or location.

What I can't understand that after religious terror, we look to enact some kind of law or preventive action to mitigate the threat. What I don't get is that when it's domestic terror like this why we don't look to enact some laws to mitigate these ones as well.
