Seven years of quicksand on the pitch under FSG. Hope to god this rumour is true.

She was at St James Park as Newcastle United are due to be taken over.

    Nothing story.

FSG finally showed this summer that they were willing to compete with the big clubs, whether we signed VVD or not, the intention was there.

I'm happy for them to stay and keep doing this but wouldn't be against a takeover if it was someone with greater means/ambition.
Failure is failure. The rest is just a measure of how far short you fell which is inconsequential.

what is their fault or it isn't would be always up for debate but after 7 years at the helm and uncountable changes of personnel at all levels we can safely assume this is a product of their own making. If they would transform the club in a winning machine everybody would have given credit for that, and rightly so, therefore is only right to blame them for such a lacklustre 7 years.

If only. Can't wait until FSG are out of the door. I just hope we're bought by an owner who demands success on a regular basis.

In terms of stability and growth business wise FSG are magnificent owners

In terms of winning football trophies they simply don’t allow the club to compete.

Agree with this, I don't buy the they made unlimited funds available for managers to spend. Not true.

If they get the £1b, they'll sell in a heartbeat.

It is one thing demanding success, and quite another having the resources to compete against billionaire owners and state funded clubs like Man City.

Hence, it would be beneficial to sell to very rich owners.

Then they should just admit they don't have they resources instead of repeating the ridulous mantra of the unlimited funds

And owners who know football well enough instead of quixotically throwing themselves into a sport they know nothing about and thinking they can still be cleverer than everyone else.

I think this is very plausible. It has always perplexed me why Liverpool with its universal reach and support has not been the target of a major, major investor. At some point it will happen and Amanda being a stuck on Reds fan. Well.....

I think a lot of it had to do with the stadium issue.

Something in all fairness FSG did progress, something that hadn't been done in the previous 20 plus years where local residents were treated like ****.

I'm certainly not opposed to viable better owners in terms of financial capabilities, but the lack of balance in regards to FSG's tenure here from some fans is a shame to see, total lack of knowledge & regard for whats happened at this club.

Anyway knowing our luck, we'll sell to super wealthy owners then the football tv bubble bursts, the sport is levelled & financial muscle means little. We'll have fans wishing for the good old days when you could just buy your way to success

Good time for FSG to take the money and run for a good job stabilizing the club. But to make us football-competitive on a sustained basis, we need owners who want the best players and want to win, win, win. And see 4th as not a great year. Adios FSG, do the right thing.

If Trump buys,he is a rich owner alright but I am not sure things will improve.

Be careful what you lot wish for.

I doubt any rich billionaire buying the club wld be ideal.

It has to be the “right” owner.
