Pump 800m into the Hull City squad and I'm sure you'd win a title or two as well. I have far more respect for clubs like Utd, Arsenal or Spurs (granted I'd still prefer City to win the title over Utd if one has to). Of course we wouldn't instantly transform into one of those plastic billionaire's toy clubs overnight and it wouldn't erase our history or soul, but it would almost feel like 'cheating' to me.
I think that's what will differentiate us from Chelsea/City/PSG - they just seem like hollow Clubs with lots of money coz they pretty much are. We have the name and the brand to come across as the 'reawakening of a giant' (market it right and we'll be flying). A manager like Klopp will help keep us grounded (at least seem that way).

I do believe we're in safe hands with FSG though and they're doing a very good job of trying to catch up to the Utd/Arsenal way of running a modern Football Club.

    Alot of work.
300m back then wasnt exactly a small fee either.

Now we are back on track with an increased capacity stadium. They are willing to fork out $1b?

Not doubting your statement. I mean these are investors / foreign sovereign wealth funds people with foresight flushing with billions and trillion.

I just wonder that chairman left these Middle Eastern people out when we all heard that he approached US investors.

No mega rich owners, with money to burn, wanted us then...and there is zero evidence any want us now.

I'd be wary of any potential buyer now anyway...we are as likely to attract owners who want to take money out...as invest big money in.

We may not be spending big now...but there is no evidence the current owners are siphoning off funds for themselves.

Clubs certainly more attractive now with room for further improvement without hinderance.
Wouldnt surprise me if we were sold to the rumoured fee, especially with a new tv deal in the pipeline soon.
Annie Rd was part of an overall scheme too so i expect it do be done eventually, so this will have a bearing on price quotation too.

If I had House of Saud money, I'd create a new club, somewhere in London. Build a little football ground, which would gradually be improved and enlarged if needed, and start at the Combined Counties level and build my way up, right into the PL. That would be great fun and more satisfying than just dumping money on an established club.

For whatever price IF we are sold, I hope the new owners are financially / strategically capable of improving us even further off and on field. Not what GR had said earlier. ✌

On Annie Road expansion, thought the plan was already shelved due to not making economic sense?

    Absolutely not.
Its part of an overall scheme and Henrys words were twisted to suit agendas especially given the timing after the walk-out.
How people can presume Fsg are incapable of building a 60-70m stand is odd , considering theyve just put forward 50m to build a new state of the art training facility in Kirkby.
Theyve got another 13 months to forward plans for the Annie Rd so its not like they tossed it in the bin.

Thats the long and short of it,
If Amanda Staveley was at a Chelsea/Everton match last week nobody would have blinked an eye.

Its a good idea but we are falling behind as usual.

How can we possibly catch up with Man Utd for example, they break the world record with Pogba, sign Lukaku for 75 million, probably sign Greizmann next summer.

Sorry but being shrewd won't catch up to the mega rich clubs. After 2 years we haven't even got a decent defense. Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd are already streets ahead.

We have 2 players up for Ball On'dor. We had the PL player of the month last month.

    These 3 players cost a combined 73M.

Or maybe Liverpool /Newcastle happen to be two clubs whos owners have been under intense scrutiny since they arrived here.

The appearance of Staveley at St James park last week was possibly an opportunity for a journalist to turn a non-story into wildfire to fill some newspapers during international break.

Why is there no chance of us winning the league then?

Glazers who bring in tons of revenue and break world records in the transfer market, Chelsea have rich owner, Man City have a bottomless pit of Arab money.

Spurs won't win the league, we won't and neither will Arsenal, we don't have the pull or the money to compete for the title.

End of the day as history has shown us massive amounts of money on transfers, big wages gets you the league title.

Finished ahead of City and Utd last year, and all 3 the year before that. Suddenly they are miles behind? Based on what? Definitely not their performances that's for sure.

Not miles behind but they won't win the league, in the end who wins the league - City, Man Utd or Chelsea.

Why? much more quality and money.
