Sadio Mane is facing a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury on international duty, Liverpool FC can confirm.

The winger was substituted 89 minutes into Senegal's 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over the Cape Verde Islands on Saturday.

And it has now been confirmed that he picked up an injury during that fixture that could keep him out of action for up to six weeks.

Mane, whose lay-off will commence when Manchester United visit Anfield on Saturday, has scored three goals in four Premier League appearances this term.

Tbh I'm not fussed either way but I think this is exactly why he was brought in.

I do think that maybe because he hasn't really been used all that much since joining we probably won't see him start on Saturday. But I'd say Klopp will be working very hard to get him ready for the following games.

Wij is back in and push coutinho up. Or I guess Ox on the left?

Not ideal. Sort of a bummer.

Tactical re-shuffle required. Shift to 4-2-3-1.

    GK Mignolet
    LB Robertson
    LCB Gomez
    RCB Matip
    RB Trent
    CM Can
    CM Henderson
    LW Coutinho
    ST Firmino
    RW Salah
    CF Sturridge

Mane will be a big miss. There is no way Ox can fill that kind of a void (or any void), so unless you push Trent forward and play Gomez at RB (bringing Lovren in) this change is essential imo.

Is Lallana back or something? People asking he come in?

Otherwise as much as we don't like it, looks like it will have to be Ox

I think we’ve been cursed by Coutinho and his family. They were devastated and must’ve put a hex on us
