That's a bit trivial. Also as above poster said, he had genuine breathing and circulation problems. And how often do we play in Turkey?

The worst thing is (I say worst as it'll never happen), it's extremely realistic and affordable under FSG

Still think we need a specialist dm, whether we sign Goretzka or not.

It certainly looks like, especially after Werners comments recently. We have the money, its about attracting the players and it looks like we have a chance with Leon AND Werner, so who knows?

    in a 433 I agree, but in a 4231 I think we'd have enough.

Yep. I'd keep a very close eye on Krychowiak, who is being undervalued and is getting a valuable season of Premier League experience at West Brom that we could potentially benefit from next year if we make a move.

If we had a chance with Lemar and Van Dijk, and were able to SIGN Keita, we'd certainly have more than a chance with Goretzka and Werner

I'd say he's quite a bit like him, but just much better at everything.

He has the right age, experience and has been integral to some of the trophies he's won. Would be a clever signing for us.

I think one concern with having Keita and Goretzka as a two man midfield is that neither one of them really sets the tempo.

Goretzka certainly doesn't. He's not a passer as such.

Pretty well, but then it's always difficult not to look good when you're flanked by Gareth Barry and Jake Livermore.

Honigstein insists he's a done deal for Bayern. Granted nothing can be signed until January 1st, but I'd guess it's already agreed.

Probably a similar story with Can and Juve.

Yes and I think you would hamper Keita by turning him into such a player and not allow him to be more all action.

From what I've seen, not many of the 'top' teams seem to use a '2' anymore. And when they do, it tends to be when they're set up with three at the back (Juventus, Chelsea, Spurs etc...).

I could be horribly wrong and misinformed of course! I'm not saying 4-2-3-1 is a dead formation either, or that it's ineffective. I acknowledge that it's still a popular system, but perhaps not utilised as much as it was in the (recent) past?
Add Napoli, City, Dortmund, Roma to that list too.

We can easily play 3 in there, but the balance has to be right.

For me we need a genuine #6/DM first & foremost in there, Henderson is another B2B CM for me.

As good as expected. Serious gross misconduct finger pointing at who ever didn't bother trying to sign him!

He's a fantastic player but it's us identifying yet another midfielder to play ahead of the pivot.

We need to sign a *********** anchor first though! I swear we're as obsessed with #8's as Everton are with #10's.

Yeah, Krychowiak would have been ideal.

I don't know much about him but one thing is evident,Kloop does not fancy an out and out DM.

I think he is looking for that Real Madrid kind of set up with Modric and Kroos.

Perhaps, Keita and Goretzka could be it.
    My ship is coming in.

Great player but with Keita coming in I'm not sure he is the type of CM we should be targeting.

I think we need a deep lying playmaker and a defensive midfielder. Then let Keita off the leash to roam from box to box, if we get our signings right we could have a very strong midfield but I'm not sure Klopp see's the need for the type of players we lack.
