Why defer payment of living wage? Do it now.

My siblings all went through their certificates before 20 and they earn decent money now but nothing to bum and blow about. Anything less than 8/hr I think is unacceptable. 10/hr in London just about makes ends meat.

The minimum wage is the government set minimum that employers have to pay their workers.

The living wage, as far as I'm aware, isn't part of official legislation but is just an amount independent authorities have deemed to be what people need in order to cover their costs of living without benefits or debt.

Yep...the Conservatives tried to blur the issue by renaming the minimum wage to the living wage...which it isn't.

Ah cheers, I was wondering what was going on when I looked on the gov.uk website and it had some odd half-way term "minimum living wage". As soon as I saw what it was set at I knew it was some sort of political misdirection.
