Two things I don't understand with him

    1. Our defence.

    2. And why did he give Lovren and Mingolet new contracts.

Still the man imo, just needs to invest in the defence.

    Only two things - wow

    Underestimated the opposition
    Underestimated the rebuild
Underestimated the ability of the squad
    Underestimated the resources around him

And enter into an arrangement with a failed plan - no defensive foundation

I reckon a sprinkle of quality to our defence (GK included) would give us a better balance and a stronger foundation, Ron.

Think central midfield has to be looked at

    Have Wijnaldum Lallana Coutinho Chamberlain

Hasn't been enough resulting in us using Milner and Can

Who don't fit the criteria of pass and move dynamic pressing bursting in the box type players

Kieta will seriously bolster midfield but as far as I'm concerned the defence needs an immediate overhaul. Midfield less so.

We are totally different way of playing this season

it's been slow methodical simple kids passing back and forwards no one willing to get into the box no passion no drive

with little protection from central midfield

Last season energy hard work creativity pass and move great off ball movement bursting into the box

Pressing pressing pressing and protecting the back four

Doesn't it surprise you that, if he underestimates the opposition and underestimates the rebuild liverpool could of had such a record against the top 6 biggest clubs last season?

We've been missing our second best presser in Lallana (best in midfield ). Mané being out hasn't helped either.

When we get those lads up to speed I'm convinced we'll see a lot more energy and drive in our team.

He's got to make the most of the opportunity to strengthen in January, for sure.

Yeah he has to sign some players, we can't go through the entire 2nd half of the season with our defense as is!

Like i said previous topic and other topics

We have to think about what if Coutinho goes

Are go with 4-3-3 we need replacement for Henderson and Coutinho leaving Keita are potential top player

If go with 4-2-3-1 do we buy two new defensive midfielders and leave Keita as the attacking player

We should be at much closer to find tuning rather than try figure out how we're going to play and Tactics and formation

Do we need a new goalkeeper Defenders central midfielder and so on

If Coutinho goes we get in someone like Lemar, with about 100m left over.

That highlights the problem - the top 6 is the icing and the cherry on top of the cake - the cake is the bottom 14, the foundation of a good season, where most of the points will come....

I asked this before is he really good enough to play central midfield as he seems excellent out wide

Like what Steviewonder said, if we lose Coutinho the money has to be used on proper quality.

And at the risk of repeating myself an overhaul in defence and a top Keeper is needed. Imo, he really needs to get cracking on it in January.

It would be a huge disappointment if he didn't get anyone in, without doubt.

Make your mind up did he or didn't he speak about ownership
what has me trying to get fan ownership of Liverpool fc got to do with anything.

and secondly, yes rafa moaned about transfers. what on earth did that have to do with 'SAVING LIVERPOOL'!? did he broker some sort of deal? did he get rbs to do anything? NO! the banks knew we were getting worse and worse. rafa moaned at inter that he was not being given funds (the club was struggling financially) and they ended up sacking him there!

so of course the independent websites and the footballing world knew about the problems and how hicks and Gillette were trying to sell us!

there were also so many non stop complaints on the forums against the owners! were you asleep at that time?

1 & 2: Keep what you have until you can get better in, it's not rocket science... Or would you have preferred we let them go and be starting Matip-Klavan with only Gomez as cover?

He's moved out a lot of the bloated mess of a squad he inherited and brought in 10 or so replacements. There is still plenty of work until the entire 21-25 is at the desired level but I think getting rid of the worst trash first and having replacements in place before shipping the best of the bad lot is probably the best approach...

Or was it keep what you have because we were happy with them??? Klopp actually said he was happy with them and was also happy to offer them new contracts. This is what I don't understand. Anyone with a pair of eyes will tell you we should have better. He's had ample time and opportunity to strengthen these important positions in the team.

I honestly didn't see the need to tie them down here on more lucrative long term contracts.
