Salah contributed more to Egypt's WC qualifying than Mane's for Senegal.

Not trying to push my country man's luck for the award or anything

Good to see 3 of our boys in the running, salah should win it.

Merely a formality. Has been outstanding for both club and country.

As things stand Salah has to be amongst the nominees for PFA player of the year or at least be included in the team of the season.

Not fully on-topic but it's always the exciting attackers who win footballs external sporting accolades, defenders and goalkeepers (other than Juve's keeper) are hardly ever in the running.

That's gotta be the reason Mignolet and Lovren keep missing out.

Salah hands down especially given the manner in which he won it for them.

Just the way it is, why we don't have tackle of the season or save of the century () or anything like that.

It is a travesty though you're right, I said something along those lines when someone did a thread on top players and their list was laden with attacking players and bereft of keepers and lacking in defenders. After all if you asked someone to pick an XI to play a match they'd hardly pick no keeper or no defenders, well you'd think so although sometimes I wonder if Klopp hasn't done just that!

It's not part of the game lends itself to excitement, imagination, passion, get the crowd going although a good thundering tackle that stops and opponent is worth a goal to any side.

Out of the 5, two are Liverpool players, one is a Liverpool player to be, and one is an ex Liverpool player(loanee)

    Pretty cool.

Agree it's become more '6 a-side' if you will, you might get the one defender or goalkeeper as a strong nominee. I think Joel Matip made AFOTY last year if I remember rightly though?

Mahrez, Aubameyang, Andre Ayew, Sadio Mane and Yaya Toure were last year's nominees.

Is this supposed to be based on international and club football?
Only 2017 or parts of last season since the voting starts in November?

Mane was hot for us, salah was hot for Roma, keita was hot for red bull

It must be for more recent times or international because the shortlist doesn't have players like mahrez

I voted for Salah, but I think Mane will win it. They have both been excellent by the way...

Because they were all born and raised in France were they not? You could say the same about English black players, or a whole host of countries.
