CL final group game at home against Spartak.

A win will see us top the group and qualify to the knock out stages. A draw will also do it, but could see us finish 2nd if Sevilla beat Maribor.

Moreno, Karius could return to the team for this one. Gomez too with our flu ridden squad.

Mane was rested for the Brighton match so could also see our front 3 of Salah, Firmino and Mane in attack.

    Lets do this! YNWA!

Gomez, Klavan, Lovren and Moreno will probably return.

Should be the usual suspects at the front.

Win is the desired result, draw is the back up plan, but defeat is just unthinkable. Shame we couldn't have held on in Spain, but we'd have taken a point at the start of that game so let's not dwell on what might have been just because we did better than maybe anticipated

Be nice to see a battering, just to end the group on a high.

If Klopp starts our four best players it just might happen, Coutinho, Mane, Salah and Firmino. 343 for me...

Shame that we are in a position where the result of this game is so important we should have put this to bed in the last match, we are more we are more than capable of winning this game but were also capable of messing up big time, but at least it's not a more than pointless game where the result doesn't matter

With the Derby is coming up at the weekend, I'm not sure he will.

To be honest, when you see Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich 2nd in their groups, to me doesn't matter if we finish 2nd ourselves. Next match will be hard not matter who we draw.

Spartak could only draw in Maribor and lost in Seville, but did thump Sevilla in Moscow....

Last season they couldn't even beat Cypriot side Larnaca in the Europa League qualifiers, drew away and lost at home. And in 13/14 they again drew away and lost at home, this time to St Gallen in Europa League qualifying.

I'm trying to find the last time they won away in Europe, not even at Celtic in the Champions League in 12/13. Aha, Norwegian pop groups aside think it was in 10/11 Europa League at Ajax in the last sixteen.

If only we'd beaten Sevilla in both games like we should've done, then we could afford to play the fringe/young players (Ward, Grujic, Flanagan, Markovic, Ings, Solanke, Woodburn). I still think we can afford resting one or two of our most important players ahead of the derby (and subsequent run into Christmas/New Year). Hopefully we get ourselves in charge of the game so we can bring off Phil, Bobby and Sadio for the derby (and avoid using Salah as Everton will be a much tougher contest now Allardyce is in charge).

    ----------------------Karius
    A-Arnold------Lovren------Klavan------Moreno
    -----------------Milner------Emre
    --Chamberlain------Coutinho------Mané
    ----------------------Firmino

Subs: Mignolet, Gomez, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Sturridge, Solanke, Salah

Salah is certain to start. It would be foolish to rest him. If he needs a rest, then the West Brom game at home on Wednesday week is ideal.

Wasn't sure if he would be fit for this game, Everton don't have much width so yes it would make sense for Gomez to start v Spartak and Alexander-Arnold v Everton.

Typical Liverpool to go a goal down and then having to make hard work of it!

Couldn't agree more, they will target Moreno if he plays. Such a big game for us, it will be an absolute travesty for us not to qualify!

Fair enough, they have to win, but I can't see them coming with that approach. Surely it would make more sense to try to contain/frustrate us and hope to get chances on the counter?

How are they going to contain our fab four without playing 10 behind the ball, not much scope for the counter attack...

    That's the challenge obviously.

But going gung ho surely just plays right into our hands? They've a much better chance of containing us if they stay compact and try to restrict space than playing an open game.
