Thought it might be a Friday, as that's BBC's main slot for the cup. This is the main game. Strange they've allowed it, but then there could be arguments that any cup game could have a night kick off, as replays are then.

BBC get first pick on the original games. BT get first pick on replays.

Eastenders will be shown twice on the Thursday then. Then fans will moan it's not on Friday, the mirror or the mail, will run with it like it's ground breaking news worth story, with a picture of the vic and the word cancelled over it. Making out the show has been axed.

The articles will somehow forget to point out the missing episode was shown a day earlier, so fans have not missed out and in actual fact got their pick of Phil giving the death stare to Wilmott Brown 23 and a half hours earlier then usual.

Of course fans might like to watch it Friday at 8pm and not Thursday at 8.30pm, but then they can record it Thursday and watch Friday, unless they are like the radio fans without Internet and have no recording facility on their tv.

The last two times the teams have faced each other in the cup, the winner of the tie has gone on to reach the final. However on both occasions they have lost the final, and to Chelsea.

So this tie is a good omen for Chelsea then.

Why is it? We played them on a Wednesday night in the league a couple of seasons back.

Is it the theory people will have more time to drink during the day? A lot will still be at work to 4-6pm so only a few hours drinking time, Saturday 3pm, 5.30pm, loads more drinking time.

    or is there another reason.
