Anyway, sign Oblak, another CB and another winger/striker in summer, don't sell anyone and we're winning the league.
Now, for Oblak I wouldn't mind the club paying the buyout clause of £77m

A player like him could make a massive difference defensively and for the team as a whole. Would be a great signing if true...

Jaysus - £75m.... huge news if true.

Not been in good form his year but we have all seen just how good he was prior to his ankle injury and all the transfer speculation over the summer.

Fine player and looks like just the kind of player we need. Massive signing if it comes off and he performs to potential.

Until he's leaning at Melwood (although the Melwood lean is somewhat of a rarity these days thf) i'll keep my **** together

75 million or 50 million it's all fantasy to most of us. Who cares what we pay! If he's going to improve us he's worth it! At least we are in a position to pay it! A position to compete!

That's insane. But if he can replicate his form from prior to his injury, it might be money well spent.

I'm interested in how these deals are done, find it fascinating.

It's massive intent from FSG, if true. I never understood the FSG negativity, they are doing a lot for the club.

Last year when VvD was on his 'A' game it was quoted that Liverpool were prepared to pay between £60/£70m for him. This season he has been well below par, in fact I would go as far as to say worse than our current crop of centre backs. Now sources are saying we have agreed a fee of £75m for him. If that is true then it will put the misplaced deals we did for the likes of Carol, Balitolli, etc. into the shade. Even at half that it is a huge fee to pay for a defender. He will have to prove to be the best central defender in the world to justify that fee and stop Klopp being ridiculed for the deal as much as he was praised for the deals for Keita, Salah and Mane.

He will play alone in defense ans everyone else in attack.
even migs is not needed anymore.
or you should think something like that for that price

My only worry is that there won't be money left for a top GK
    Which means we're stuck with 1) Mignolet, 2)Karius, 3)Ward.

I hope Ward gets a chance against Everton in the FA cup and convinces Klopp to play him more.

    goals against last 5 seasons-42,50,48,50,43.

title winners goals agains last 5 seasons-33,36,32,37,43.

goals against mid 30's is what we should hope for with a £75m defender.

Just because a player has a good season in one club does not mean that is going to transfer to a new club.
Its the price really isn't it. Seems like a massive fee for a player who seems out of sorts. Look at Phil, clearly wants out but as good as he ever was, probably better. Big contrast. I donpt see how VVD is worth the same as Keita, more or less when there are other CBs out there and 70 million gets you a top CM to play alongside Keita as well.

Heck of a team being created.

Phil will want to stay now.

We could win the title next season, final game, win 6-1 against Utd and some people would moan on here about the goal we let in!

    Fantastic ...

FINALLY this club is buying individual QUALITY players for big money. Polishing the squad instead of spreading the funds over multiple average nobodies ...

Keita on the way in the summer ...

    Thrilled.

    75M£
That's a lot, a lot too much I fear, definitely a player we need though, hope we are leaving enough for a decent keeper

You're not supposed to have brainfarts when you cost £75m
