Been calling his quality performances for a while. Nice to see more appreciating the guy. Has adapted his game to our style. Excellent defensive, toughs it out. Great to watch him. Moreno is expected back training in next week or so. Be good to have them back for the run ins .

Tricky with Kenny doubling up at times too, but read the game well and made good decisions all night.

Love how he gets stuck in too. He really gets it.

His patience is being rewarded. Long may his form continue!
This. his decision making tonight was excellent and love how he plays with controlled aggression. (both our full backs were really good tonight).

No nonsense defender that contributes in attack as well. What problem?

On it at the moment, good run of games culminating in tonight. Some top challenges on Bolasie who they really tried to utilise, snuffed him out.

He's quicker than I thought too.

Looked a nice balance with VVD on that side of the centre pairing too

Easily his best game for us so far. I spoke to a Hull fan who said that on his day he is a fantastic fullback.Hopefully Klopp can get that consistency out of him.

Yeah, really liked how him and Virg worked together. Credit to Milner as well who covered when necessary.

aye, and only 23, loads of room for improvement. could end up with a settled backline for years - now that would make a change.

Yes Milner gave him great back-up which shouldn't go unnoticed. In fairness, Milner is a great pro and a valuable squad member.

Yeah, Milner is a great professional. Dependable and usually consistent.
I'd keep him around for another year or two really.

Never the most outstanding player on the pitch, but gives his all and his experience is very good to have on occasion.

    I like him.

    Happy he is here.

Not going to claim he is Maldini like. But we don't need Maldini.

People dissed it when I said he would replace Alberto for the long term but I'm convinced he has a better all round game to Moreno...equally good going forward but Robbo has much better positional sense, better game awareness, better tackler, better discipline in the position.

And he will only get better. Klopp will continue to develop him and VVD will be a huge on-field influence.
dose this mean we can get rid of Moreno now

Well done to him... He has proven me and many like me wrong... If he keeps this up he will soon be a fan favorite... Between him and the much improved Moreno our LB issues might be over

At the moment none of our fullback players are a problem imo. Sure, the odd blip, but overall they're doing fine.

Priority is midfield and goalkeeper now, and I think we all can agree on that.

Agreed but there I know some have questions about RB.... Do we leave Gomez there or move him strictly to CB... Also TAA being so young could he handle a full workload... I do agree though... Fix the midfield and get a proper GK and the good times could start rolling on a regular basis

I'm assuming Clyne will be back at some point and Gomez eventually moved centrally.
From next season I'd assume Trent would be better equipped for more games/responsibility as well.

Either way fullback isn't a huge issue. With all fit we have 5 (6 counting Milner) who can play there and do a decent job. Just a few years ago all we had was Johnson and Insua.

yup. now look at the ages. looks like by the time klopp is finished we will have a very stable team for a few years that hopefully will improve together over time. scary thought considering how we are starting to play now.

I was really impressed with him at Hull City so was delighted that we managed to bring him in during the summer as hes a consistent 7 out of 10 minimum performer usually.

Personally, I feel hes the best left back weve had for years and has all the tools to make that spot his own for the next 6 years or so at least.

He defends well, goes forward when the opportunity allows but also picks those moments wisely and anticipates danger. His crossing is up there with any full back in the Premier League too. Great delivery which we should be getting on the end of far more often.

Another fine performance tonight and stifled Bolasie really well. MOTM...no question.

One of the signings of the season for me.

    MOTM last night for me.

Looked like Everton targeted him with Bolasie first half but Robertson stood up to it very well.

Good post. The hit rate of signings since Klopp came in is way above the average success rate.

Brilliant performance. Stuck to his man all night with great aggression and tenacity. He can attack and take on a man too. MOTM for me.

Probably the best LB performance I've seen for us in years.

Seemed to work really well with Milner and Virgil.

Let's hope him and Virgil can maintain that standard.
