See Van & Matip continue to build a partnership

    Right fullback

Arnold had a terrible game last time against them

Gomez it's having a few bad games of late

So wouldn't know who to pick out the two

If Henderson still injured then it's Can for number 6 role

not sure who's going to play in central midfield

Front 3 Salah( if fit) Firmino Mane

could end up in the highest scoring draw,

heart always tells me that we can win games so I'm so dreaming that we can win

my brain always tells me that against these teams that we're going to lose

so I'm going with my heart and really believe we can win

If Salah, Mane and Bobby are all fit and playing ... we've got a chance.

And if the Phil transfer hadn't reared it's ugly head again, I would have said we have a GREAT chance.

If we can avoid defensive howlers, and the stadium is rocking ... Yeah, could win it.

'Coutinho will be available for the match' how gullible can one get. He was never injured just like I said, watch he will feature in barcas game next week.

    Live on Sky Sports

So we welcome the runaway leaders to our place, they handed us our tails earlier in the season, after Mane was sent off

A new era begins - Coutinho has moved out and VVD has moved in...

This game will be a huge test for us, we are unbeaten at home in eleven months and currently 17 without defeat, so this game will be a big ask in maintaining those records. Manchester City also come into this in great form. It’s a tough game to call, especially with City losing the last four league meetings between the two clubs at Anfield.
League form against them - home: DDWWWW

How we perform in this game might give an idea as to how selling Phil has affected the squad, particularly the attacking players.
If we are low key and lethargic then it wont be a good sign.
City are probably laughing at the timing of all this.
For that matter, it's likely that United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are as well.

We definitely got more than Arsenal and Spurs in terms of quality

It'll still be a tight fight with United and Chelsea

Agree with the goalkeeper pick and the back 4 front three just picked itself

Central midfield you can see there isn't much quality there

Maybe that's why it's a poor team selection? Shame you never thought of that. Of course the attack and defence pick themselves, it's our strongest at the moment. However what you failed to do which is a regular occurrence because it requires thinking is to provide a solution.

So what is the solution. Take out Milner or Can and put in Adam Lallana. Lallana is the best front foot presser we have and him behind the front 3 causes havoc.

I'm thrilled to see who Klopp thinks is good partner for VVD now. It's sure he will use him, he is in form and everything. As only Klavan and Robertson can theoretically play left-back as well, so I guess it is Matip. Lovren probably needs a rest now, so the
    Gomez - VVD - Matip - Robertson/(Klavan?)
    line should work

Well their laughing may stop should we bring some quality in

Phil was probably the difference between three points and zero.

I have a feeling Klopp might want someone like Milner in there over Ox/Lallana for this game.

i have a feeling it ll be emre and wij with lallana ahead

this was very effective for us last year with phil in a front three.( it only fell apart due to lack of wide alternatives and we may face that problem again if we dont sign a winger if salah gets a long njury now).. it can be again with salah in for phil but with the added bonus of big virg at the back

i think we need another winger more than a playmaker, ideally a playmaker who can play equally well wide ala coutinho. know any of them?

we are stronger than this time last year even if right now it doesnt seem it in the immediate wake of coutinhos transfer

our best midfeld last season was hendo wij lallana. we still have that midfield with emre in for hendo

Could work, but I haven't been particularly impressed with Wij this season, he looked a better player last season tbh.

i agree on wij, he was better last season but last season he always turned up in big games and city is a big game.

i quite like the idea of oxlade and lallana both pressing like lunatics behind the front three with a dedicated sitter behind them

lallana was very effective at it and oxlade is starting to show some proficiency for it . both of them nipping in to win balls high up could pay dividends. that and lots and lots of klopp hugs for the ox. i think erm confidence in himself is a bit of an issue with him at the moment. he s playing a bit too safe and within himself. maybe losing coutinho will give him a hole to fill by forcing him to develop his game more also

    hes not though

karius is more commanding of his box , has faster quicker distribution from his hands and it equally as good a shot stopper as migs. migs time is gone , like everything from the rodgers era is going,,, sturridge coutinho next migs hendo and lvren and it ll be fully klopps side

karius is our future keeper get behind him or stick with the past... ie migs

karius is one of the worst keepers I've ever seen play for Liverpool
