Absolutely. Personally, I wouldn't go for a proper no.9 but more of a versatile attacker who can play across the front 3.

I don't think you beat City without a lot of players putting in a MOTM performance though.

Klopp has showed the rest of the premier league clubs how to beat city, no point in parking the bus and trying to pinch a point.

The dynamics of the team changes when he plays. He's too slow for Klopp's system.

We have to get someone in to rotate with Firmino.

How many teams do you see replicating that performance? AND having the sort of quality to produce 4 outstanding finishes.

Hell never regain his old form , hes done.

Hes not the same player he once was..a player offering as little will not be given the amount of games he needs to be effective in ANY top cream of the crop team in europe.

The amount of games he needs to play consistently is not the main problem anyway..its the little else he offers other than finishing off chances handed to him on a plate which is the main

    problem.

His build up play is not up to scratch for a klopp system and his mobility is arguably the worst with any attacking player we have in the squad..and on top of that his pace has gone.

unless hes finishing off from a cross or unless you play him through on goal for a one on one the man offers little else - its the reason why lacazette struggles at arsenal,

he offers little else but finishing ( cant create anything himself).

Sturridge is suited to a team that will do all the work and allow him to hang around the box and just finish off any chance that falls to his feet.

Without doubt though hes comfortably the best finisher we have out of all our attcakers, but thats not enough..

Very good performance but the meltdown at the end shows we really could use a Lucas type DM on the bench to shut those sorts of games out. Once Can came off we got run over...

You mean this one - https://youtu.be/lS3wBE64Z28?
I actually dislike the last line from the song. Singing about ex-players is pretty salty and cringey! We're better than that.
Nice tune though, I just change it into "Our attacking trio".

Nice stat for us against City

City have lost more Premier League away games (15) and conceded more Premier League away goals (44) at Liverpool than at any other club,
and on Merseyside in the Premier League era, they have won only five of 41 visits.

    Also

We need 43 goals between now and the end of the season to beat their best goals tally in all competitions in the Premier League era, which came in their glittering 2000/01 season. Gerard Houllier's side scored 127 goals in 63 games as they finished third in the Premier League and lifted the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup.
Those struggling with maths, we are on 85 in all comps so far

I noticed that figure the other day, quite staggering given the season is barely over halfway and we went out without scoring in the League Cup.

I won't have time to now, or possibly be bothered at all, but how many times, if any, and when was the last for us to win two games 7-0 or better in one season....? Those goals in CL have bolstered the total for sure, even at a conservative two goals per game from here on in are we not set for another 36 minimum? (although not sure we can apply 2 per game to CL it is an average per game across the board)
People will believe what they want to believe

Pep seemed to be on the verge of tears when we went 4-1 up. I actually felt sorry for him... for a second.

Poor result last night, no idea why Klopp cannot get them up for these games. You should be breathing down United's necks, but manage to blow it.

Coz we are complacent - the mindset is to get ourselves up for the big 6 and then for the other 13 , we don't think we have to bother....
We think we just have to turn up and the 3 points are ours...

Also we only have half a plan, an attacking idea, to win things it needs to be complete and as near perfect as possible...
We have no idea on the parked bus, we can't grind out victories

But our biggest victories are against the bottom sides we can do it
Trouble is our players can't be bothered sometimes.
    Whether that's because they've had a tough week....A long journey....or too much fun before a game.. ..I don't know.
But they obviously think it's acceptable to put in dire performances every so often
