The way he handled things shows he isn't the calibre of player required to take us to the next level. We need courage to go with skill.

He's gone. Be forgotten in a few years. Nowhere near a Suarez, Gerrard, Alonso, Hyypia.

Hope we draw Barcelona in the champions league.

He's pretty good but he's no James Milner - we'll be fine

    Oh well...
It's not as if the rest are all academy bred players. Each one of those has left a club before and it's part of professional football. I think you are underestimating how well professional sportsmen can take these things.

I'm still pretty surprised he lasted five years here.

Great player, but seriously disappointing how he handled things to get this move.

    Oh well, onwards...

Hopefully we play like we have without Phil this season, great record without him so hopefully it continues.

Not ideal and everyone wishes he had stayed but we have done it without him this season so why cant we do it now?

    Exactly my thoughts.
Those getting angry..were they when Suarez left I wonder?

Its a mad move for him and Barca (now) but maybe he thought I have to go now rather than wait until the summer and perhaps cooled interest from Barca.

Klopp has made it very clear. They tried their best to keep him, but he didnít want to be here. Gutted we only got £105 million up front. I am not holding my breath with the rest of the £40 million add Ons.

I have lost a lot of respect for the kid. We as fans would have been happy if he left in summer, but to go halfway through a season is leaving a bitter taste.

Hey ho! We move on. Letís get that effing 6th European cup this season. Hope this motivates the lads and manager even more.

He would have lasted longer if he didn’t improve. He’s become one of the worlds best recently

He was sold as soon as he reached world class level.Probably the best success of FSG's policy "buy cheap and sell at a high price"

    **** him.

Hope he flops, rots on the bench and ends up back in the Brazilian league playing **** poor football with Vasco da Gama.

    But I wish him well.

    Yes!!

Who said I was dreaming when I said £150 or no deal.

This is as good as and we have made them pay for once.

    Good deal for LFC.

Now we need to spend it wisely.

We have a great record without Salah too and had one without Suarez. A small sample of games doesn't tell the whole story

Wanted to leave from July. And many on here think it was some last minute in the summer refusal

    What are you saying?

We are currently 4th, we have sold our best player, we will not be stronger so the natural assumption is that we will finish lower than where we currently lie

Never knew some fans cared and believed more in Phil than the club
