Didn't we just put out a statement saying we weren't interested?

Loads now reporting this. I guess we will have to trust Klopp with this signing. I have my reservations about him, but I think Klopp could take him to another level.

Mahrez is a great player on his day but not really sure how he'll fit into the team. Don't see him pulling strings in midfield either. Be interesting if we do end up signing him though..

Good player but where the hell does he play?

How will we accommodate him in our team?

I'm struggling to see where he fits for the remainder of the season...

    Henderson - Wijnaldum

    Salah - Mahrez - Mane

    Firmino

lots of rubbish in Media source,

we don't need him as we still got Momo Salah, Sadio Manč and eventually AOC who can be deployed as right hand side forwards,

we certainly need some game creators in our offensive midfield to be lined up in the half spaces and provide ammunitions up top to our forwards,

Ryad Marhez has not the proper identikit of the attacking midfielder with those features,

He can play anywhere in the attack, fill in for Phil's boots

Same conundrum on my end. Salah to play more centrally me thinks. Many a times he's played ahead of Bobby in attack anyway. Mahrez to go on the right where he is most comfortable?

People saying we don't need him are crazy. He's an awesome player who has literally led his team to a title. Our front 3 have already been injured this season, and there are ways to fit Mahrez in with them all on the pitch anyway. Salah as a striker with Firmino behind and Mané and Mahrez on the wings for example.

But we play 4-3-3 and Coutinho was usually one of the midfield three. I cannot recall Mahrez ever playing in a midfield three.

We may have to revert to 4-2-3-1 to accommodate him.

That could be it. Salah to play more central behind Firmino?

I think that takes a lot out of his game. Salah is effective as hell cutting in from wide.

I don't want Salah as a striker. And I don't want Firmino moved from the attacking position.

Salah cutting in works. And Firmino leading the line works.

    You're a huge Mahrez fan I recall.

Happy with this signing if it happens?

I'd rather sign Mahrez than worry that we'll sign nobody. He's a fantastic player but he is difficult to fit in tactically for us.
