" Liverpool FC can confirm that Cameron Brannagan has today signed for Oxford United in a permanent transfer.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who joined the Reds at the age of five, completed the formalities of his switch to the League One club on Thursday.

Brannagan leaves Anfield having made nine first-team appearances for the club. He spent the second half of the 2016-17 campaign on loan with Fleetwood Town, before returning to

Liverpool and a place in Neil Critchley’s U23s squad this term.

Everyone at Liverpool FC wishes Cameron all the best for the future."

according to the LFC official website,

it's with great sadness that we wish the best of luck for his future to a very promising talent as we dubbed Cameron Brannagan,

unfortunately he didn't make it to break steadily into our first team surrounding, and Mr Klopp and our coaching staff took a different decision about his future,

thanking Cameron for anything he contributed to since the age of five at our Academy, we wish him a bright future at his new club and a brilliant career

    rife with successful professional goals,

we won't forget the talent and the hard work you have lavished on the pitch and training ground in all the years you have spent at the service of our Academy.

    Good bye Cameron!

    YNWA Cameron Brannagan

Really sad to see him go, for 200k only. I guess that pays for VVD's wages for a week.

indeed, a very cheap income for such a talented youngster, what a pity!

His career nose dived after his initial break through.

    it shouldn't be so, mate,

he had the talent needed to make it at least as a squad player in our first team,

he had to be still nurtured,

    talent wasted, mate,

I never got the hype around him. Always found it strange how highly some people rated him.

    it was very talented, mate,

take a look at the replay of his last game against Jong PSV,

    he was outstanding,

a brilliant playmaker, with a sensible right peg and decent left peg,

and equipped with an excellent drive with both feet,

it was more than promising, mate,

    don't be biased, please buddy,

I just never saw what other people saw in him to make me think he was ever that good. And lets be honest it's not as if he's went to a championship side, he's went to a mid table League 1 side. Good luck to him and I hope his career turns out well but I honestly never thought he was that good.

I right don't understand why our transfer board reduce itself to get rid of our most promising youngsters for such ridicoulous fees,

    I right don't understand,

Oxford aren't going to be able to afford much more. I'd expect there to be sell-on and buy-back clauses as usual to safeguard us financially.

I think that he was LFC material a lot more more than Jordan Rossiter was, another of our Academy talents offloaded a couple of seasons ago,

as an instance, he was not given the same chances a talent as Jordon Ibe was given,

and please, mate, let's recall what amount of dosh we managed to cash in from Jordon's sale!!

He's still young enough to come on to the game his early promise suggested .

Young City player Michael Johnson ? And Vardy. Two completely different eexamples of a positive work ethic mentality and how you can shape your career for better or worse .

Because it was so sudden...not the gradual drop off you normally see with youngsters.

There must have been more to it than just a loss of form or lack of progression.

He did have an injury pre-season of the season before this.

But he went from maybe first name on the U23 team sheet, to hardly getting on the bench.

That only usually happens after trouble either on or off the pitch.

    this ^^^

no idea why he got as much support as he did, probably cause he was a local lad. but during games i found his partner, matty virtue the better player and often overlooked. either way, good luck to him on his future career.

I really feel for the lad.

To fall from such heights as this:

to signing for Oxford United must be pretty soul destroying.
