If our next soon to be world class GK signing goes down the hill whilst John Achterberg is still here then this very goalkeeping coach will need a thread of his own on here for major questioning!

When Mignolet leaves, you expect he will eventually turn "World Class" past the age of 30 when he finally gets good coaching! Jokes!
Yes it can, it could also be sod all to do with the coaching and far more to do with the pressures of stepping up and playing for Liverpool, sorry but I am not going to jump on the bandwagon slagging of a guy that I you and every other fan have no clue as to his capabilities skills etc, I mean do you think Klopp an idiot and seeing what we see with the keepers would not question this guys fitness for the job, of course he would, and if he was not good enough or at any part at fault he would be replaced and he is not been, so that tells me blaming the Coach is a Kop out and unfair.

huge risk...karius has already shown us how crap he is...an extended run will just further confirm that!

we should be thinking about how to win the champions league rather than putting a crap No2 on trial

The risk is no greater than leaving Mignolet in, the difference between the two at the moment is negligible.

Both keepers are unreliable. But if we were to persist with one of them(because we are THAT blind and naive), I'd rather it be Migs than Karius. At least Migs has some amount of shot-stopping ability(however little it may be), while Karius looks like he has none at all.

I think if Miggs was sold we would have to bring in a new keeper, if no new keeper was available or not to Klopps liking I doubt he would let Miggs go.

Mignolet shouldn't be complaining about the squad rotation. He's had four seasons prior to this one as no1 and what does he have to show for it? Very good at penalty saving but he's as prone to a mistake as he is to making an outstanding stop. He'll make the Belgium squad regardless of whether he plays every week or not, only an injury to Courtois would make him no1 there.

If he's that fussed about not playing every week despite not being good enough, then he'll have most supporter's blessings to find another club.

I think hes complaining because hes been dropped when he doesnt deserve to be dropped. Whats worse hes been replaced by a far inferior keeper..

He's been dropped in the past and not complained......he's honest enough to admit when he's made a mistake.

He made a mistake at arsenal and klopp should have dropped him after that if he wasnt happy. But he didn't.....which shows klopp still wasn't sure.
Telling migs he's no longer number 1 again will surely see migs ask for a move.
Klopp is gambling big style......unless he signs a top keeper ....fast

I think we can now say with certainty that Miggs will leave, if not now he will leave in the summer and if you put aside your views on his capabilities you cant really blame him for wanting out, he has now been dropped for a second time so he will see the writing is on the wall.

The smugness of some peoples posting today is outrageous considering the current standard of keeper thats about to replace him.

A couple of decent saves in 4+ seasons is not enough for a club like Liverpool, other keepers do it every match.

Now it all makes sense giving him that new contract, at least we can command a decent fee for him when we sell him.

And who's gonna buy him? And pay his wages?

That’s not what I was saying. Some on here have said he has ‘never’ made a ‘decent’ save, ‘ever!’

Not taking the mick here, I honestly want to see Karius make a few saves like it just for my peace of mind, so I know he can

Migs should have been told this years ago and we would have a pl title and a cup.

You might be right, maybe we’ve planned this knowing he’ll want to leave and he’ll be under contract? If the reported £20m is true, that’s a fair bit of cash for a GK

He obviously must have made good saves in Germany otherwise Klopp wouldn't have bought him.

He's on something like £60k a week. Who's gonna pay that? And since he's got 3 years left on his contract at the end of the season, we could be in for spending a crapload of money yet.

Reina was great before John Achterberg turned up and not one keeper has flourished/improved under this coach.

Reina head was gone the minute he saw Benitez /torres/alonso and masch walk /pushed out the door and i couldnt blame him for his form diminishing.
Blaming his form soley on Achterberg is taking a stab in the dark.
