Injuries and a period of transition doesn't bode well

Scotland are probably better now than Wales......mun

50/50 with Ireland I think. England have a fair few out as well.

England's injuries makes it a bit more open.

I think they'll scrape it though. Dunno who comes closest to the challenge, probably Ireland and France.

Would love Scotland to keep improving as they have an excellent little team that Vern Cotter organised.

Vunipola is a massive loss. Without him they struggle to break the line. They should still be solid in defence and set piece but I reckon Farrell will have to kick a lot for them to win.

France away may be difficult depending on which French team turns up.

long as sides keep their discipline and play like ireland did in Dublin they can topple eddie's english side then

    when Billy V wasn't playing.

If clever sides limit their penalties I think England are not exactly toothless, but toothless. Not exactly

That's true due to England's depth on the wing, Henry Slade is injury as well though. England might have to kick for territory more this 6 nations.

I think people maybe underestimating the strength in depth that England appear to have.

    France host Ireland and England

Think I'd take England's fixtures, might also depend are Scotland much improved or that Wales are much worse?

That's true and it is their strength-putting game-changers on in the 60th minute has made a big difference. But with the injuries those game-changers are now first teamers and the bench is not as strong.

England are the bookies favourites, but I reckon Ireland may pip them. Maybe.

I think people are underestimating Wales too easily!

Injuries or not they have 10 Scarlets in the team who were part of the Scarlets team that won the Pro 12 with some utterly incredible rugby!

I could be wrong but hopeful of a winning start!

As an Irishman, I hold some hope for us in winning this outright, but I can't see anyone winning a grand slam. In order of how I think it might finish:

    England
    Ireland
    France
    Wales
    Scotland
    Italy

As an Englishman, I hold some hope for us winning this outright and getting the Grand Slam. Just got a feeling though, that Ireland may nab it.

    For me:

    Ireland
    England
    Wales
    Scotland
    France
    Italy

Fair play Wales that was very good performance, shocked me TBH thought we'd struggle with so many out.

    Great opening match.

And what an end to the France v Ireland match.

Superb drop goal but the French must be absolutely gutted literally had a penalty with 4mins to go to seal the win.

Wow, what a drop goal from Johnny Sexton at the end.
Not a great match but a great finish.

Looked like we weren't going to make the breakthrough, but what a start to the tournament.

Those were the results I was expecting, just not necessarily as they turned out!

Wales looked brilliant against a poor Scotland.

Fantastic drop goal from Sexton and they are looking good for a grand final at Twickenham, but if France had kicked that easy('ish) penalty then it was all over.

    Fine lines.

I actually thought France should have kicked that pen into the corner. If he got the pen, there would have been a restart on half way and a chance for Ireland to score again. Kick into the corner, keep it tight and they have possession and control of the ball for the last 2 mins.

As a Welshman so happy about that win for us. Seeing how Scotland played in the autumn and us missing 8 lions I wasn’t too confident, but it was the manner of our win as well. Best performance by us for a couple of years. Twickenham is another story though

Ireland would have needed a score but they'd had to have got a try to win it.
He'll be kicking himself for missing that, it wasnt really difficult.

I agree with Johnny Z on that one. If it had been a difficult kick then maybe, but Ireland needed to score a try in two minutes (something which they hadn't managed it 78 mins before that) if it had gone over.

I agree with you about the Wales win Changing of the guard do you reckon?
