We can, we need to get behind the team and create momentum. We can do it. COYR.

We seem to be slowly but surely consolidating our position. We've crept past Chelsea, keeping ahead of Spurs, and creeping up on Utd. Chelsea seem the most vulnerable to me. Long way to go yet.

A month or so ago, i was thinking the worse as we lost so many points, but we can still do it.

Even without Coutinho, I believe we have the second best squad in the league, especially in terms of balance. As such, I believe we will finish 2nd.

Honestly I'm not all that convinced that City is all that much better, quality-wise. They just have a few players that step up and take over against scrub sides when their mates are laying an egg and we seem to be lacking in that regard. They don't stink up the joint and get stuffed by the likes of WBA or Swansea like we have...

It's their staggering consistency that sets them apart. In a 2 legged CL tie I'd fancy us to do them, or at least give them a serious run for their money.

They are better, they have a complete midfield and an actual squad. We have to rely on certain players to compete at the top.

So do they though. So do most top sides. They have better depth though I agree.

Bonus that we can afford not to take any risks in the home leg, with United just 4 days later. They'll have their home leg vs Sevilla 3 days later - hopefully that'll still be in the balance.

Would be nice, although I'd settle for them being completely out of the tie by then too.

    Agreed.

If rhey under-estimate Sevilla, they are in serious trouble. We've seen how formidable Sevilla can be.
If United lose concentration, they are in trouble. We saw what losing concentration does against them.

Think they'll beat Sevilla, I don't think Sevilla are all that great this season at all. Not that I think Utd are all that great either though.

You would have to say honestly on current form Liverpool and Spurs will be 2nd and 3rd. Both teams look formidable. I wonder how patient Man U will be if Maureen were to finish 5th.

Not very. Maureen usually wins the league in his second season. Going downhill would be a big slap in the face.

he's a manager that comes with a 'but' - winning usually counteracts that.

From what we have seen this season Liverpool and Spurs deserve a top four finish, how Man Utd are second is beyond me, but that's football for you.

    DDG in no small part.

In fairness they may be dull as **** but they grind out results

The last line is true in every way.
Hopefully LK will be just as effective in the future.

I can answer that by saying if we had De Gea in goal and they had Mignolet wed be 12 points + ahead of them

Also, if we had a Dembele in midfield who could hold the ball, turn and pass forward we'd be a different team.

I long for Keita (although a different type of player)

    I'd agree.

The save stats speak volumes between them. 80plus percent vs 50 percent save ratio. De gea also had faced about 80 more shots on goal compared to us.

    That’s a phenomenal stat if it’s true.

    1) Easiest fixture list of the big 6 by far-no big 6 competition until week 8 when the early season jitters and such are gone, no big 6 opposition over the festive period when the fixtures come crazy fast, still have matches with 4 big 6 sides to play
    2) Still benefitting from dubious officiating with offside goals and such
    3) as previously mentioned, DDG gets them a number of points

I think in the end they will end up in the battle for 4th behind Spurs and us although it may not be much of a battle if Chelsea don't get their act together.

We had several chances to overtake Man.U. earlier in the season, but we dropped silly points when they were grinding out narrow victories. Watford, Burnley, Newcastle etc.

In itself, a statement like that would typically be hyperbole. In this case, I don't think it as at all.

I don't know about 12+ points as I really don't think he'd have saved us that many points in the league because the goals we allowed were mostly of the "keeper has no chance" variety. OTOH, ManU may well have dropped a dozen or more without him bailing out their dodgy defense.
