The battle for the top 4.

    1. Manchester City - W23 - D3 - L1 - GF79 - GA20 - GD59 - PTS 72
    2. Manchester United - W17 - D5 - L5 - GF51 - GA19 - GD32 - PTS 56
    3. LIVERPOOL - W15 - D9 - L3 - GF61 - GA31 - GD30 - PTS 54
    4. Chelsea - W15 - D5 - L6 - GF49 - GA23 - GD26 - PTS 53
    5. Spurs - W15 - D7 - L5 - GF52 - GA24 - GD28 - PTS 52
    6. Arsenal - W13 - D6 - L7 - GF51 - GA35 - GD16- PTS 45

City looks like bringing in Laporte this window. Will be stronger at the back.
United bringing in Sanchez. More options in attack for them.
Chelsea have brought in Barkley, linked with Dzeko for more firepower upfront.
We have brought in Virgil to tighten us up at the back.
Arsenal have now Miki from Arsenal and are linked with Aubam. Looks like their attack could be pretty attractive if they get Aubam.

We have key games coming up against United, Chelsea and Spurs and Everton, which could see the table change after those set of games. And we also have more parked busses to come apart from Man United to break down. The battle to finish in the top 4 could go down to the wire, like the last match of the season.

This thread is to follow our run now until the end of the season and give us more clues how good our chances are. Depending on if everyone is healthy, how Klopp rotates the squad when CL kicks in next month to mix with the prem challenge.

...I will also edit the table, if I remember with each game played.

    No worries!

I was surprised to see Arsenal concede so many goals to be honest!

It would be cool if there was a widget where you could post a snap shot of the current table in a post - hint hint mods

Yeah. Arsenil's defence is even worse than ours.Even Cech has looked quite poor this season. And yet they are busy buying more attacking players.

yep I think it will be harder than last season and that was a right old battle in the end. Much will depend on cup runs and of course luck with avoiding injuries to key players. Its important that our mini blip against Swansea is just a one off. Need to get back to winning ways fast.

We have a strong chance. Would have been nice if we beat Swansea and putting our eye on second and not cementing 4th. We always do things the hard way.

I reckon we will be on a frustrating run. That's how it always is. Arsenal, Spurs, us and even Chelsea and Utd have that kind of run.

I know! The back is their weak spots. At least now we have Virgil...but we lost with his league debut...

Always risky playing the projected points game - when does it ever go to plan? If we can keep Spurs and Arsenal at 3-6 points behind us going into the last few games we have a good chance. Our penultimate game is away to Chelsea - hopefully either us or them have top 4 sown up by then because if not that is going to be one hell of a game. Hopefully Klopp can keep up his good record at the bridge.

    Just a random guess.

    Huddersfield Town (a) - draw
    Spurs (h) - draw/lose
    Southampton (a) - draw
    West Ham (h) - win
    Newcastle (H) - draw

Knowing us as kind of like a draw specialist this season and we maybe going on a bleak run soon, the above results won't surprise me one bit.

Knowing us we'll smash Spurs 5-2 and then lose to Southampton away the next game.

Going by our form this season that's unlikely to happen.
